Nancy is back to her old tricks. This time she falls back on the old lefty tactic, blame it all on Bushitler:

“What is important now is to be united in our commitment to ensuring the security of our country; that, and how Congress exercises its oversight responsibilities, will continue to be my focus as we move forward.”

So is it the CIA that lied to her or the Bush administration? Or does she now believe the Bush administration ordered the CIA and George Tenet to lie to congress and they complied? You really can’t make this stuff up.
There are plenty of reasons to call this latest excuse completely bonkers but Allah has the best:
according to Pelosi’s logic here, if this is all just another of the Bushitler’s conspiracies, then her failure to mention it until now means she’s been essentially covering for George Bush.
Either way, this is her attempt at damage control because she knows full well that the CIA will win this fight. So bring up Bushitler’s name and the left become mesmerized once again into complete idiocy.

Credibility goes a long way in D.C. As long as Pelosi’s in office, her credibility will be questioned, her party may also not be so quick to run/vote to her marching orders every time she brings legislation to the floor. Caucus’s could fracture. Which is why I say don’t flush just yet.

This is just her way of trying to brush it off as in her comments to “move forward”. Eagle, quite right; also, the senate leadership and committee staffs were informed the same way, so both the house and senate democratic leadership knew and allowed whatever was done throughout the process. Further also, your right that Harmons letter is a CYA and question, not an objection – note Harmon is implicitly admitting that it was committee counsel and staff legal openions, which held the actions were legal, that the democrats used, not the WH opinions now so demonized. Harmon apparently also had the CIA and DOJ opinions as well as her own committee counsel opinions, but is asking for the WH opinions and signature documents to CYA.
Us inquiring dirty minds would really, really like to see what democratic staff and counsel for both committees wrote at the time.
