Remember when SARS broke out the liberals were claiming that two hundred million people would die within a couple of years. Well, that was another dashed hope for liberals. Now the same liberals are hyping this swine flu as equal to the 1918 flu epidemic. Again, I seriously doubt it. Libs, from global warming hoaxes to swine flu non pandemics are constantly wishing for the viral apocalypse that I believe, they think, will allow leftwing governments to finally wrestle all control away from the individual.

FDA employees looked at 596 cases – most of them in Japan – of patients experiencing psychiatric side-effects which may be linked to Tamiflu use. Three Japanese adults committed suicide while on Tamiflu while five children died. Since 1999, when Relenza was approved, there have been 115 reports of psychiatric events, of which 74 were children.

The Japanese Ministry of Health warned against Tamiflu use for patients aged 10-19 in March 2007. The ministry then broadened its investigation of Tamiflu to include Relenza and amantadine, after reports came in of abnormal behavior among children

Egypt is Muslim. But there is a Christian minority; these are their pigs. Given that this flu is not actually being transmitted through pigs, I’d say the Egyptian action is just a case of some of the Muslims in power sticking it to an unpopular minority. What with pigs being perceived as unclean there in the first place I’m sure it will go over well, even without any real basis for it being done.

The more I see and read about this “pandemic” the more I am convinced that is just an excuse for the WHO and HS to make power grabs. Watch closely, and in the days and weeks to come you will see “emergency” legislation pop up to enable the fed to exert new powers in the face of an epidemic, and I think you will also see legislation that will cede a certain amount of control to the WHO. As Mata pointed out, 36,000 people a year die in the US of flu related complications, but at most a 100 or so have died of this strain worldwide, none of which have been in the US.

Guess which school my daughter goes to…Branham High School in San Jose CA…The place is freakin out, because one girl MIGHT have it. All anyone knows is that it doesn’t match the known matrix of human-type markers, but the swine-flu markers don’t show up either.

This girl has not been admitted to any hospital, and is by now ready to go back to school. She has only been out since last Wed, and the “Word From the Kids” say she’s had worse colds….But school is closed for the week, the state testing has been postponed, and Kayla’s play (footloose) has been canceled.
