Did everyone see Janet Nu-uh-uh-palitano’s presser today? Am I the only person who uh thinks she IS a Simpsons character? The antidote has been “found” for years… Tamiflu since 1999. (bird flu panic a few years ago ring any bells?) All without Obama’s help, too… go no. From all I’ve read about Roche, they get private funding, spending about $7 bil annually on development. They also have a history of philanthropy. All without Obama and the government.

Another drug, Relenza, had it’s problems in Britain with the government reluctant to supply it back at in 2000. Both drugs have had their controversy INRE effectiveness, dangers and side effects.

Frankly, after the vaccine experiences in the 70s under Ford’s direction (read in the above post), I won’t be lining up for a swine flu shot vaccine any time soon, thank you very much.

As for your bogus numbers… you’d better provide something better than a few taps on your keyboard and a “trust me” type ‘tude. Roche, which had the Tamiflu patent, has allowed generic versions to some countries, including Vietnam, India and China. After 2007, Roche was said to be able to manufacture about 300 million treatments annually… way over your purported 1.5 mil monthly. In fact Roche provided the WHO 30 million capsules in 2005, and an additional 20 million capsules in 2006…. this before they okayed the Indian and Chinese generics.

Relenza and Tamiflu also have shelf lives. They have to keep restocking it. Five years, I believe, is the average. You can waste tons of taxpayer cash stockpiling drugs with shelf lives, and aren’t used… or useable on the extremely young or old.

You assuming there aren’t already stockpiles of this stuff around? Or that only the government can purchase and have it on hand for employees?? Try again…
