Gosh, imagine my absolute shock and awe to see Obama’s Press Sec all of a sudden come out and backtrack to the “let’s not look back” position-just a day after Obama said, ‘let the DOJ do it if laws were broken.’ Why the flip-flop-flip? Could it be Speaker Pelosi, John Rockefeller, John Kerry, John Edwards, Harry Reid, Dick Durbin, and other high-ranking Dem Congressional leaders AND Intel Committee people knew torture was going on? Of course. It was reported in the Moussoui case that KSM was tortured. They were all briefed multiple times-publicly and privately.

What’s not in doubt is that really bad guys had a bad time of things-in some cases a very bad time of things, but across the board, when “torture” was used it’s reported by everyone-Dem and Repub-that traditional interrogation techniques were tried first AND FAILED.

Now, when that fails leaders have a choice: go further and torture, or just put em in a cell until the attack they planned happens.

I say again, let the attack happen. Let the people in New York City (the prime target of every Godzilla, Asteroid, and terrorist movie it seems)….let them die. They’re surviving family members will understand. When they call home from 100 stories up in a burning building that’s about to collapse and grind them to dust…I’m sure those people will say, “at least the govt did all it could”

Actually, reading the entire 2007 Washington Post story shows that Pelosi’s statements above are not contradicted. (Unfortunately, all the WaPo story’s sources regarding Pelosi are anonymous.) But you’re absolutely correct: get all the pertinent people to testify under oath. That’s the only way to resolve these questions.

One thing I’d like to know is this: Were all these briefings classified? If anybody had gone public back in the early days, would they have been breaking the law?

Pelosi is NOT stupid; she’s an agenda-bent political super-hack, whose head has grown tremendously under Obama’s presidency. Pelosi is a dangerous, greedy witch who is not willing to stop her crusade to do as much damage as possible to Bush and any Republicans who have stood in her way. She MUST be held responsible for what she knew, so that she cannot use her feigned ignorance as a tool for destroying others. I, for one, am sick and tired of Pelosi’s two-faced aggressive socialist actions and self-serving ulterior motives. Nancy Pelosi could be the poster child for everything that is wrong with our legislative system.
