@Missy: Spring here turns into summer very quickly and then the heat and humidity come…. So I doubt you’ll be envying me much in July… or June or even May.

As for friendships outside the faith? Difficult for people who are so invested in their cause. But it is possible.

If you visit Mike’s site, you will be treated to beautiful photos of the flowers in Mike’s gardens he generously shares. So far, all we have are a crocus here and there and a promise of grape hyacynths coming soon and my daffodils are budding. I envy Mike’s early spring, wish we could have spring all year, I love it.

Not saying that at all, Aye. Sorry if I made it sound as such. I have close friends from many political spectrums, and we get along great. My point is that Mike and I have more in common than it would seem from the discussions on this political blog.

I knew exactly what you meant. It shouldn’t be surprising at all that those on the left and right get to mostly know one another through their political identity only, since, if we stay on topic on a political blog, our differences is what’s going to stand out.

Would make a hilarious script if two people who got along great in the “real” world were posting scathing attacks on one another’s cyber identity on a political forum, without knowing that they were getting into heated exchanges with one another. Then they start talking to one another about what they’ve been doing online, mentioning the s.o.b. they’ve been having problems with….until it finally dawns on them that the s.o.b.s they’re talking about are each other.

Well, I’m glad to hear that.

Believe it or not, you’d more than likely be able to form friendships with a great many of us here if you gave it a chance even if we do hold one anothers’ feet to the fire on political stuff. And facts. We’re big, BIG on facts here. Nothing will put you in the conversational bulls-eye like a lack of factual backing.

I am guessing that gardening may be an interest of yours but that’s only a guess. If so, then you and I have that in common as well. In fact I spent the day working in the garden.

You should stick around here Cary. Seriously.

Don’t feel like you have to just lurk. Come on in. The water’s just fine. You may get splashed here and there but we will all have a great time together in the pool.
