Okay…. enuf. This started out as a lightweight news story as an alternative to much of the oppressive news we deal with as a nation. And, a fitting end game to the previous conversations about the return of the Churchill bust.

Frankly, I don’t see this comment section going anywhere but into a personal spitting match about off topic historical perspectives and individual assaults.

Jesse Jackson, whom you malign here, was standing within feet of Dr. King when the fatal bullet struck him down. Jesse Jackson, whatever you think of his subsequent political career, was one of Dr. King’s lieutenants, who risked his own life marching with him.

Obama is Kenyan trailer trash. He hasn’t any sense of propriety, or respect for true greatness. Yes, MLK was a great man, no where near the stature of Churchill, but still great. And I would lay odds that O’Bungler hasn’t a clue of WHY MLK was great. To Obama, MLK is just a symbol he can use to gain Black sympathy. His bust is a political tool, not a symbol of ideals that are so alien to Obama’s psyche that he wouldn’t know what they were if they bit him.

There’s a reason that MLK was a Republican.

Yup, Gaffa… certainly a shame. And an embarrassment, as I said on the threads about the return of the bust.
I apologize for this naive and rude POTUS. Obviously he has a narrow and self-absorbed focus on historic figures.

You can find any famous person and find things in their personal or professional life by which to criticise them. Churchill was far from perfect – however what he stood up against – Fascism & Communism particularly when others aorund him were willing to surrender – makes him worthy person to be admired. The same with MLK – despite his shortcomings – he bravely fought against blatant rascism in the 50s and 60s which is a stain on US history. And he was more in line with peaceful protest than others such as Malcolm X who advocated by any means necessary.

It’s a shame that with the size of the White House – that Obama couldn’t find room to house both the Churchill and MLK busts.
