G Rebok#19 was criticizing Scott’s authored post for abbreviating “four weeks” as 4 wks (which is perfectly acceptable to use numerical numbers under 10 in “proper” English, BTW). And for not typing out the word “with”.

My comment immediately below was to G Rebok for being, as you might say, seriously anal-retentive. One might have to wonder if he stays constipated for days watching journalists at the New York Times and other major outlets often refer to billions as “bil”.

Considering both of these posts didn’t address comment #12, what *are* you talking about?

Wow I’m back in grammar school – fourth (4th) grade . Miss Hartley doesn’t like spelling errors or abbreviations so I guess i’ll just have to stop posting so as not to upset her delicate sensibilities. Although I do remember her saying it’s ok (okay) to use arabic numerals n place of written numbers as long as you maintain this choice thrughout and do not jump back & (and) forth between the two (2). I hope I didn’t misunderstand you Miss Hartley. I’ll try harder.

Ah you might want to use two (2) spaces betwen the end of a sentence and the beginning of the nxt (oops next) sentence. It’s considered as a more “proper” way to write a paragraph in English

And btw ( by the way) thanks you for the compliment. I liked to think my response was more an essay also but didn’t think the content was quite up to that standard (ops almost used std. there).

Thank you for the surprising amt. (amount) of your precious time and attention given over to such an insightful and illuminating critique, however I really don’t give a sh*t as to your opinion or if you take me seriously or not as you seem to be one of those who believe that form is much more important than content.

Our farm is in the NW corner, a couple of miles south of the Iowa line. We live in Illinois, hubby spends every weekend down there, I go for a couple of weeks at a time from spring thru fall. We won’t be living there until I can get mr-work-aholic to retire.
