This bill will go nowhere, I would guess, just as its twin did a year ago. But sooner or later it will be this sort of legislation which will spark the very badly needed second American revolution. If actual Americans were to roll over after a successful attack on their liberty such as this, the US would surely be doomed.

Chicago is a gang violence hell hole. Hand guns….shhhiiiii any gun is illegal in the city yet Chicago had over 500 murders in 2008 #2 behind NY, but #1 per population. With the strict gun control in Chicago, they still have the worst crime stats. I think Rush’s district, IL 1st is the most crime ridden district in the whole country. Most of what is in this bill is current IL law, what good did it do?

Hubby took all his guns to Missouri, let his IL firearms card expire and can no longer purchase a gun or ammunition or even BBs in Illinois. We can’t even buy spray paint within Chicago city limits.

Luva, the gun rights and ownership battle certainly isn’t a new one. The gun control nanny types have no taste for reality… just regulation.

Yup… I see an NRA resurgence, and burgeoning black market business on the horizon. This stuff, if passed, will make quite a few people rich … just as it did when the 18th Amendment was in force. Considering the lack of trust in the banking industry (thanks to continual eroding by the US media), mattress money is looking more and more inviting. Tho every dollar in the mattress will have little value by the time Obama/Pelosi/Reid are done in their two years of unchallenged power.

INRE the regular assault on gun rights… if it passes, the nanny Dems have to choose whether to allocate federal funds and time to investigating American gun owners and their RKBA rights, or investigating the *real* bad guys they will be importing from Gitmo (and already here) after releasing them from failed attempts to convict via our evidence laws.

The hole they are digging gets deeper.

many people i know are buying more guns and ammo. my husband stocked up on ammo and has boxes stacked in the closets. my friend went and bought 2 handguns and a bunch of ammo. i want to go and buy a rifle and a shotgun, and a gun safe. most of the murders that were commited were most likelly from guns that are not registered and are in the hands of felons. the lawful will follow the law that is pretty much a known, and the criminal element will still do there thing, that is how it is. its not law abiding gun owners that re doing drive by shootings and robbing the corner store, its the felons and crackheads. this should reported on by the msm, but we know that won’t happen.
