But I have no doubts many will spin this as Bush failures. In other words, the ACLU and liberal voices scream about habeas corpus, and how these guys shouldn’t be held for long terms without being charge.

Yet they are being released. Why? Not because they are innocent. But even by the military tribunal standards, they may not have enough solid evidence on which they can hold and convict. Bush was damned if he held them *not* as enemy combatants, and damned if he did.

Welcome to the real world, Obama.

Now can you imagine how that will translate to the US court system?? They will not only be freed on “beyond a shadow of a doubt” circumstantial evidence, they will also be running around loose in our country.

Nice move, Obama. Next time you mandate something to happen, it would be nice if you knew just how that would transpire, and consider those you are allowing US Constitutional rights.

Personally, the more I read about those that are released, the more I am quite sure that they should have been held as enemy combatants for the duration of combat on Gitmo’s foreign.. not sovereign… soil.

Unfortunately, the Supreme’s disagreed. At least about the “foreign soil” bit. And that started this snowball down hill. The avalanche of that opinion, combined with Obama’s quest to be loved by the int’l community, is upon us.

umm. yeah and islam teaches hate and murder, they want their members to murder non-believers. how much more wonderful can you get in a religion? and before fit has a fit, really talk to a cleric, find out the real deal. when you break it all down, that is the basic of islam. now, we should have just turned them over on the battlefield and turned our backs and let the iraqis have their way with them. and if they cannot find the ones that have been released and they have been through the deprogamming, what makes any of us think we will be safe from them?

The problem with the Islamic countries is we can’t completely trust them. They are infiltrated with militants themselves and probably aid in the terrorists’ escape. Maybe we should have turned all but the biggies over to the Iraqis and Afghans on the battlefield then we wouldn’t be bothered with figuring out what to do with them and would not have them returning to fight against us.
