Bush Comes Home To Crawford With His Head Held High

Bush comes home to Crawford:

“I never took a opinion poll to tell me what to think and I’m coming home with my held high and a sense of accomplishment.”

Yup, one of the biggest reasons I loved him as our President. A man with convictions who would not back down in the face of public pressure from doing what he thought was right and needed to be done for the security of our country.

Btw, guess who the only network was to carry his homecoming?

Says I’m #8013 at 8:54pm Pac time. But I’ll be darned if I can see my contribution in the list. Recycles the same entries over and over. Hope it appears.

But consider the number difference, Mike. You were 25 minutes ahead of me. And in that time, almost 7000 people weighed in with their opinions.

I know there are only so many patriotic thing one can say, but I just caught Jon Stewart (The Daily Show) doing a ChangeFest 09 piece where he intermixes Obama’s Inaugural speech with segments of Bush speeches where Bush is saying nearly the identical thing.
Obviously Obama has been hanging with Joe Biden too much.

    President Bush,

Thank you for many things. I can not agree with all of your decisions and actions, but I appreciate your bold leadership and willingness to take risks. Thank you for your commitments to the Continent of Africa, the spread of freedom, and the prevention of terrorism. May the Lord God bless and keep you and your family.

  9. Bush in my mind will always be a US President with Balls and Class.

    Clinton was the Pornstar President.
Obama will be the Celebrity President.

Now while I give credit to Mr. Bush for protecting America from any more terrorist attacks… I’ll have to admit, the Dems have the Repubs beat.

    No domestic terrorism under Democratic watch since… uh… well… uh… 1993?

  12. @Owen Finn:

Ummm… no. You forgot about 1995.

    April, 1995 specifically.

A couple of questions for you there Mr. Finn.

Do you blame Clinton at all for the extensive planning for the 9/11 attacks that occurred under his watch?

Do you blame Clinton at all for the investigative/evidentiary/communication roadblocks (“walls”) that were put into place by Reno and Gorelick which ultimately resulted in the success of the 9/11 attackers?

Or are those cumbersome, uncomfortable facts conveniently forgotten in your haste to point fingers at the supposedly stellar record of the Democrats?

    Just askin’
