“Tolerant” Left Attack Church Over Prop. 8

More evidence of the tolerance in the leftwing: (h/t Michelle Malkin)

Vandals spray-painted swastikas on a Catholic church in San Francisco’s Castro District Saturday night.

It appears the vandals are upset about the Catholic church’s support of Proposition 8, which made same-sex marriage illegal in California.

But, the Most Holy Redeemer Catholic Church on Diamond Street is gay-friendly. Many parishioners voted against Prop 8 and they are upset their church was targeted.

Yeah! Why target our church, go target some other intolerant church!

Pastor Steve Meriweather told KCBS his parishioners actually share the vandals’ sentiment against Prop 8. “I think it’s unfortunate that they selected our community to attack,” said Meriweather, “because it’s the wrong one.”

What a pastor. He doesn’t tell the criminals to stop vandalizing churches, or anything for that matter. He doesn’t tell them to protest peacefully. No. He says they picked the wrong church, the other one down the street should of been their target.

But hey, what do you expect from a Pastor who supports Prop 8 which is in direct opposition to the Catholic Church’s official teaching on this issue.

This guy, like many a liberal, is infiltrating the churches and teaching their dogma to their congregations. It is the same thing with the media and the schools. Infiltrate, take over and rule the masses. The Church of England is full of these people. They have turned many a churchgoer into a liberal and a non churchgoer.

Hmmm. Would this be considered friendly fire?

Greetings:

Funny how “hate crime” doesn’t show up in the local media coverage.

just like war protesters, these folks are hurting their cause by being so nasty about everything. don’t they realize that the more ugly they behave the moer the rest of us tune them out.

Just a quick question based on one of the quotes in the article.

“Just the conflict between being Catholic and being a parent, and being in a same-sex relationship”

At least one of these things is impossible. Guess which one.

So which one is impossible?

NewGuy40, all of the above?
Anyone who is a Catholic and voted against prop 8, is not a good practicing Catholic. Including this so called pastor.
Same sex marriage, in fact homosexuality, is still against the church’s teachings, and no matter how progressive this pastor thinks he is, and no matter how many of his parishoners voted to end the ban, it remains so.

And, this “married” to a same sex partner guy, is going to a church that does not condone or allow his behavior. Raising a daughter in the church is comendable, but his acitons otherwise are in contradiction.

During this election cycle, I read over and over again, the “vote your conscience” letters, from the Catholic church, regarding this issue and the pro-life issues with direct regards to Obama and Biden, and never once did the letters vary- no good Catholic was supposed to vote for gay marriage, or for the pro abortion candidates, president elect Obama and his VP.

Well it’s not impossible to be a Catholic and a parent.
It’s not impossible to be to be Catholic and in a same-sex relationship.
And it’s not impossible to be a parent and in a same-sex relationship.

Do all good catholics follow evry Bible command and the church teachings to the letter?
I guess all catholics are virgins until they marry, never divorce, never use contraception and never have a wank. When are they going to get over sex?

I guess that whole “sin” thing has kinda lost it’s meaning in the UK, now huh? Good luck with your new Islamic overlords…

Thankfully the UK has pretty much abandoned religion, in all but name, a while ago. Churches are losing their flocks all the time. As for Islamic overlords – yes dream on. As much as I dislike Gordon Brown and the Queen – the last time I looked they weren’t islamic. Still the Queen is still the head of the Church of England – and I guess Gordon believes in God but not much of a God-botherer as Tony.

And although we got our own homegrown nutters who bomb their own country – (as does the US – remember Timothy McVeigh?) the muslim community represents around 3 per cent of the population and I don’t think they are all fundamentalis somehow. In Parliament there are only 4 muslim MPs of the 646 seats – which equals to 0.6 per cents of the seats – so they are actually underrepresented. . But of course some of you rightwingers believe that Obama is muslim. So who has the islamic overlord then?;)
