Pakistan shuts down NATO supply line through the Khyber Pass

uyyutuyg

NATO’s vital supply link through the Northwest Frontier Province has been shut down as the Pakistani military launched an operation to clear the Taliban from the area. “Supplies to NATO forces have temporarily been suspended,” Tariq Hayat Khan, the Khyber agency’s political agent, told reporters. The main road between Peshawar has been closed as the military launched attacks using “artillery, tanks and, helicopter gunships,” link.

I blame Bush for this, but I HOPE that Pres. Obama can CHANGE things by using (his words) “the same [Bush] policy” in re to Pakistan.

SO, Obama supporters: What should President Obama do when he takes office? Should he continue the Bush policy towards Pakistan like he promised, or something different? Also, how’s he gonna supply his soldiers in Afghanistan (very important to Flopping Aces writers and many readers as this literally hits home)?

  2. Where is that little terror loving loon we had commenting here via Peshawar? I wonder if the Pakistani Army finally found his hiding place?

While the world remains focused on Hamas (*not* Palestine) vs Israel, the Taliban is really gaining ground against Pakistan.

And they instead amass the Pak Army on the Indian border….

Someone needs to slap some sense into Gilani and Zardari – they condemn Israel defending themselves while their own back yard slips out of their control.

    Mata-

I think that was the whole point of the India attacks, to ratchet up tension between the Pak government and India, allowing the Towelieban and friends a freer hand in the west and north. Pakistani and Indian responses to each other are pretty predictable.

Yeah, Lighbringer… it is predictable. It’s rather common for them to start skirmishes in other places in order to fester the fight, and advance their goals elsewhere. But for Pakistan, it’s like dropping the fight against a forest fire in order to put out a flaming cigarette in an ashtray.

Hamas did the same thing with bombarding Israel with rockets for the past months. Israel and Syria were in negotiations…. which of course has now come to a halt again. While these Muslim nations may occasionally engage in negotiations with Israel, never will the Muslim world condemn Hamas or Hezbollah for assailing that country. We can always expect Israel to defend herself. And we can also expect that never will a Muslim nation condone that self defense. They have a convenient blind eye.

It’s happened before… and it will continue to happen. There is no absolute reconciliation possible between jihad and the presence of democracy.

Perhaps that is why Liberals end up “taking sides” with the Jihadis so often. It is not because they sympathize with their worldview, it is not even that they will side with anybody Conservatives oppose. It is, quite simply, that if you are not predisposed to believing every line of blatant propaganda that is put in front of you and jumping to the obvious, predictable conclusion, then you probably aren’t a Liberal in the first place. Your average conservative isn’t a super genius, but a lifetime of watching liberal lies and misdirections exposed inoculates us to that sort of BS to a certain degree.
