Simply: It’s all just more scaremongering globaloney from the same people who predicted that 2007 would be the hottest year ever.

But of course none of that will stop the scaremongers from once again moving the goal posts. They’ve been wrong time and time and time again but that doesn’t stop them.

Besides, so many of them are raking in billions of dollars to support their research and environmental activism. They are not about to admit they were wrong, or that they lied.

(LA Times) The United States faces the possibility of much more rapid climate change by the end of the century than previous studies have suggested, according to a report led by the U.S. Geological Survey.

The study, which was commissioned by the U.S. Climate Change Science Program and issued this month, expands on the 2007 findings of the United Nations Intergovernment Panel on Climate Change. Looking at factors such as rapid sea ice loss in the Arctic and prolonged drought in the Southwest, the new assessment suggests that earlier projections may have underestimated the climatic shifts that could take place by 2100.

However, the assessment also suggests that some other feared effects of global warming are not likely to occur by the end of the century, such as an abrupt release of methane from the seabed and permafrost or a shutdown of the Atlantic Ocean circulation system that brings warm water north and colder water south. But the report projects an amount of potential sea level rise during that period that may be greater than what other researchers have anticipated, as well as a shift to a more arid climate pattern in the Southwest by midcentury.

Global Warming will make history tomorrow. For the first time since ’71, all of Canada will be covered with snow on Christmas Day. That’s a fact. http://www.abc.net.au/news/stories/2008/12/23/2453431.htm I live in the Northeast, and I don’t know how much more Global Warming I can take.

Well, luva girl… After three days of not being able to get my truck out with both snow studs AND chains (hard 90% turn at the bottom of a hill, with a yard that’s old river bed to roll in to if I make an error….), I finally parked it at my next door neighbor’s house. Now I can negotiate in and out of our unplowed road. Good thing as I need to drive to Seattle on Friday.

Just got cable TV/dish service back after said neighbor got ballsy and climbed on my snow covered roof and cut down some ice laden fir tree branches blocking the line of sight. Kewl… live streaming local news sucks.

Just finished shoveling over 400sf of 2-3 foot snow drifts off my 10-12 ft high deck before it collapsed… and now braced for tonight and tomorrow’s snow.

The county’s declared an emergency since we only have four plows to the county. Portland has sapped all our sand/gravel reserves, so they pretty much stopped plowing and said to everyone… wear chains, or get a ticket.

They weigh a neck down pretty good… LOL

I guess the money they save by not plowing and de’icing will be made up when they have major road repairs this spring from all the chains.

“Climate change”… what an oxymoron by a moron (algore) Climate never remains the same and *always* changes. So the world getting warmer results in colder air. News to me.

Cool post. Er, I mean nice post, makes me feel all warm and fuzzy. Well warm anyways. Oh yeah, I’m linking to this one fer sure. By the way, the recent snow storm and cold spell we had here in Michigan was caused by global warming. No really it was. It never snows in Michigan in December. At least not according to the poor hysterical global warming hypers. They just need some meds for that hyper activity.
