Hey, Curt. It was an internal investigation. It’s not the “official” investigation. That would be Fitzgerald. It’s all on tape. All recorded. It will come out in the end. No worries. The President-elect had to do his own internal investigation. Of course, this is done with his people. So, now, he can give an official account for everything which happened, as far as he knows of it. Those who believe that he runs an honest team will take it at face value. Those that don’t — won’t.

But it was something he had to do; and he did it.

Let me ask you something. In your heart of hearts. After all the dust has settled. Do you really think that the Obama administration ever had any attention of “buying” a Senate seat? For what compelling purpose would they risk doing such a thing? I’ll tell you what this will all turn out to be — one big nothing. But it was useful in exposing just how eager some people are to lay some sort of a scandal at the doorstep of the President-elect. Next best thing to winning an election is to smear the guy who won. And both parties do it. Human nature. But let’s at least be honest about it. And admit it when we engage in this lust for political blood.

Can’t believe I’m arguing this stuff on Christmas Eve. I’ve been exiled temporarily from the present wrapping sector of the house. Should have stayed with the sports section.
