First Day of Winter Brings Big Freeze to Much of U.S.

i have over 17 inches of snow at my house, i have never seen so much snow. i cant get out, thank god i am insane and stock way up on food. we cannot even gt our cars out of the driveway. this is crazy and i still have shopping to do and i cant get out. it is very pretty and my kids are loving it.
As of 1254 hours 22 December in Wichita, KS it’s 16 degrees with a wind chill of 3. Freezing drizzle/rain forcast for tomorrow. Al Gore should take note. I am looking for a job in Palmdale CA.
luva: No snow here on Hilton Head. The closest we get to a White Christmas is the sand on the beach. I’ll be heading off to Ohio on Tuesday hoping to get some real snow. My luck I’ll get there and it will just be COLD!
@Mike’s America: we are expecting more. i actually had to try and find a pair of boots, that was interesting. we get 3 inchs at a time maybe. wish i was there and not here. would rather have snady beaches than all this snow, it is very pretty though.
Hah, I shoveled 8 inches Friday, we got another 3 inches Saturday nite and now the wind is drifting the roads shut, the plows can’t keep up and it’s only 1 degree here, don’t know what the chill temp is and I’m not going outside to check it out. We’ve run out of places to put the snow so I’m not looking forward to more on the way.
Mike, I think you may be driving into another storm that’s coming through and yes, it will be cold.
I’m nicely in the -10 band. Freezing out here in WI.
2-3 days of black ice in Indy & down to teens Monday from Tennessee, through Kentucky & in Indy on drive up. Might see a White Christmas yet, but rest of relatives here already tired of the cold.
