And on the morphin shot “Combat humor”, takes me back to my AF teaching days. I remember another instructor talking about this one guy that was teaching a chem warfare class “in theater” who happened to get a “live” injector mixed up with the “training” ones, with the same result. Those injectors have a spring loaded needle that shoots out extending about an inch and a half to penetrate the flesh. They extend with such force they will even go right through a wallet. Likewise, if you put the tapered end against your thumb, the needle will go right through it, the bone, your thumbnail, and out the other side and you get a useless little fountain out the end. The guy I’m talking about remained “a trooper” and still continued with the training session before handing the class over to someone else on the break and seeking medical aid…:

“DAMN that smarts!” (To his students) “Ya’ see that? That’s why we’re always such a pain butt in making sure you pay attention in this training. You got to make sure you slam the tapered part, Here!” (points with other hand to indicate which is which, with the injector dangling) “Into a large fleshy area. NOT the flat part, Here…”

Still it’s kinda’ hard to remember all that when you have to worry about “other” projectiles zinging past your head.

And yet the left calls our soldiers cowards, thugs, losers, etc. Sounds like projection to me. Let no one tell we don’t have the best soldiers in the world. God bless them.
