Just want to say that Alan Colmes was demonstrating basic ignorance of the most elementary facts regarding conception, gestation and birth if he blogged to say that he likely concluded that Trig was born with Down’s Syndrome because Sarah Palin flew home in labor.

Down’s Syndrome is also and more accurately named Trisomy 21. It is a condition whereby the paired chromosomes of the father and the paired chromosomes of the father are to split. The two and the two splitting and leaving two, but in the case of a trisomy one pair splits and the other does not, so making 2+1 or a TRIsomy…

No amount of prenatal care or lack thereof affects the splitting of the chromosomes that occurs at the onset of life.

How arrogant and how ignorant Mr. Colmes evidently showed himself to be by musing over Mrs. Palin’s regard for her baby when she flew home to give birth to him there!!! Perhaps he took his blog down hopeful that many did not see it and realized his stupidity regarding such elementary biology.

Well RAP, your remote has buttons on it to take the channel up or down. Feel free to tune to one of the numerous other news networks that report things only with the Dem spins as they want to hear. Free speech includes even conservatives having the right to choose what voices they wish to hear from and not just endless liberal/socialist bias. Your recommendations on this matter have as much bearing as your recommendations on how to overhaul the Republican party. You don’t have dogs in those races, so explain to us why conservatives and indies should take your opinion seriously. Fox is certainly more fair than Couric, Gibson, Matthews, the View and the hosts of other pundits & commentators from the left. And of course, you also have your slew of celebrities who are nothing more than a cross-section of self-absorbed folks who lucked into their big breaks. Most whom are as intelligent and informed as those idiots Leno features from the streets of California.

I agree with SoCal Chris, in being turned off by the typical rudeness of talking over people the station had invited to be interviewed, was indeed one of the most annoying factors with Colmes. Why bother interviewing someone when the commentator will not allow the public to hear their expert opinion on the topic.

I too often listen to Coast-to-Coast in the wee hours of the morn for a bit of a break, mainly during periodic cross-country drives. Of course, like most shows, I take a lot of it with a grain of salt. Still they do get some good solid hits. I recall shows in the late 80′s where they spoke of impeding failures in the housing & stock markets due to the CRA, other legislation, and as a correction of long-term overvaluation of stocks by speculation. It’s not just Atlantis, Bigfoot, ghost, UFO, and various New Age reports there.

Hannity by himself will be boring.. I wonder if Fox Noise would even dare but a stronger Progressive in there to debate him. Colmes was just part of Fox Noise trying to show they are balanced. They never will be fair nor balanced.

I think Missy makes an excellent point.

Colmes has been tolerable all these years as a sparring partner for Hannity and I think has made the show more interesting.

However, once Colmes started stoking the Palin rumors and posting on his blog about it, that’s when I lost all interest in him as a valid voice and just another of the left wing media nuts out there.

I’m glad to see him go at this point.

Colmes posted the rumor on his blog that baby Trig’s Down Syndrome could be the result of Sarah Palin’s carelessness because she flew home to Alaska to have him. He took it down without comment or apology, but lots of bloggers saved the original post. Outraged people called and wrote to FOX demanding that they fire Colmes. Wonder if that had anything to do with his ‘ahem’ decision to leave.

After removing E.D. Hill from her program for commenting on the Obama’s fist bump, they did not renew her contract, she’s gone. Colmes could be another bit of “fair and balanced” clean up.
