Sanjay… you give up too easily! First of all, this was a very conservative mandate election…. hard to believe.

Obama campaigned on “tax cuts”. This is a conservative message. Yes… he was lying thru his teeth, offering tax cuts to low earners and contributors, and tax increases to everyone else. But he stayed on message. He was all about (in some alternate universe) tax cuts.

Spending? He was not psuedo conservative there. But, immediately after the election, he was back pedaling on spending Another “conservative” value.

I’d say we are not doomed. The message needs to be… first, obeyed by those in office, and second, revamped to conservatism… of which there are only a handful of those in elected office.

Like a true moderate Jazz does not understand that the road to recovery is blocked by so called moderates. They must, therefore, be convinced of the errors of their ways or vetted from the party. Moderates are little more than soft Republicrats who lack backbone and are unable to stand up for anything unless it gets them a seat at the table.

For example, can anyone define McCain’s core idea in the campaign? He was conflicted, and Palin came to his rescue several times and that won her the enmity of McCain’s backstabbing staffers.

I read Jazzes’ piece as a “lay down and get along” song and dance that made my stomach rumble. “Beating the democrats” is what it’s all about! If you don’t beat them they win and America becomes another Marxist country. Now, please show me one of those that are prospering!

If the GOP’s leadership can turn its back on distractions and find ways to deliver real solutions to major, long term problems for America – as opposed to finding ideas to fix partisan problems in their own party – the road to recovery will open up. If the focus remains on discovering attack strategies to “beat the Democrats” then I fear the GOP will need to get used to living in the wilderness. They’re gong to be there for a while.

I like to take the inane, vapid posts of some of these ninnyhammers and fashion them into cluebats with which to cyber bash them over their pointy little heads. Some of them aren’t worthy of any sort of response whatsoever. Just scroll on by. Chances are very good that one of the other posters or one of the authors will play the game with them.

Most of the time, after being force fed the facts to the point that they’re bloated, they will move along quietly.

Some, like RAP (who called himself Sky55110 before he adopted his sock puppet), and Erika/voter are the resident barking MoonBat mascots.

Their arguments don’t stand up to any sort of scrutiny and, when they are scrutinized, they will quickly scurry off into the darkness until the dust settles returning again later to raise another unrelated issue about which they are also clueless.

I don’t agree with all of the other posters here either. I don’t agree with all of the authors even. But that’s OK. That’s what makes the world go round. There are times that I will speak up and say so. Other times, I just keep quiet.

So, take this post for what it’s worth.

I enjoy your presence. I enjoy your contributions. Just ratchet down the emotion and reaction a bit and all will be well.

Just remember that the world, even the cyber world of FA, would be mighty bland without a little salt and pepper.

It is amazing that you tolerate all the stupidities from the leftists, but surprisingly, you cannot accept if a conservative contradicts you… isn’t that strange! You want no debate between conservatives. Tolerant only for leftists… but no tolerance for conservatives that disagree with you.

For the life of me I don’t understand where you get this stuff. Have you been banned? Nope…you run when someone tells you this won’t be your own echo chamber, sure….but you have not been banned.

This is what they are doing all the times to us and Sarah, McCain, Bush and conservatives… and they are still here and still doing it. I saw no ban! Except for Kool-Aid who wasn’t the worst of them.

Because they disagree with you, this may antagonize you. But simple disagreement doesn’t provoke hostility in most people. Most recognize it for what it is, a disagreement. There have been some who did do nothing but poke people in the ribs to get a reaction and they were banned.

You won’t have to ban me, I’m out of here. You seem to be more comfortable with leftists than with conservatives who disagree with you. So keep them and cherish them. That’s okay, bbart… you don’t have to like Nugent, the man 100%. However the points he makes, in a style that is distinctly The Nuge, are the perfect chord. We have too many RINO representatives that “talk conservative” and “spend liberal”. Their spending for the decade plus they were in power is completely antithesis to what conservative is all about. We have become a shadow of our former selves.

Thus, separate the conservatives from the moderates, put the conservatives back in with the stronger voice, and get back to basics.

Craig, if you’re still reading… I know your fire’y passion is in control at the moment. I believe Curt is responding to the many times you’ve demanded that this blog “clean up” or you’d leave. That’s just not how it’s going to work. Truth be told, I wasn’t appreciative of that not so subtle form of blackmail, so to speak, myself. But I let it pass as I have other comments you’ve made that make my brows raise in astonishment. This is because I’ve had time to get to know your temperment.

I doubt any of us would stand for any single commenter mounting a campaign that attempts to chase off the dissenting voices by making them feel unwelcome. If a cyber community in total harmony is what you seek, then FA is just not your bag. Frankly, had you gotten your way (unlikely), then I’d be out of here for boredom alone.

But I do resent your parting shots that all FA authors are somehow centrist and moderate… at least by your terms… and that we don’t disagree with each other. Actually, we disagree often. Perhaps it’s missed because we are generally civil, having a respect for each other’s perspective. And of course you – and anyone else – are allowed to disagree with Curt, or any of us. Unmitigated support for our posts was never a demand any of us has required.

You have enjoyed as much tolerance as anyone else… and perhaps a bit more because we know your directness and refusal to mince your words. But Curt and Rocky have made a valid point. Sometimes it’s good to throttle back, and just skip the one who got on your nerves with a post instead of just posting an insulting judgment call on the commenter. Definitely makes for less stress and anger in your daily life.

I certainly hope you check in at least every once in awhile. And yes, we’ve all flown off the handle occasionally when a comment gets under our skin. But I also hope you will take Curt and Rocky’s comments to heart about throttling back on some of the many comments that are composed of nothing but insults. I stand corrected on who Nugent supported in the primary. Still don’t care for the guy but I think I have to admit it has a lot to do with style (Limbaugh also irritates the hell out of me) and less with substance.
Here’s something I like better (with very similar thoughts), even if the average Nugent supporter would probably find it a bit bloodless: Mark Sanford on the election.
