I've got some links on my other computer, but getting them out is more trouble than I want to invest at the moment. As to finding those links on line, the farther away in time the less likely it is. I've got sites that I bookmarked 8 years ago which are still active, but I couldn't find today without those bookmarks if my life depended upon it. And I think that's on thing the dishonest ones are trying to accomplsh by posting so many false and/or misleading reports - to bury the truth. It's like the fellow who's whispering the truth in a lynch mob. No one's going to hear him, and the incited nuts who are driving the crowd aren't going to listen even if they do hear.

Thanks for that Newsbusters link. I didn't have it, and it looks like a good one.

HERE ARE A COUPLE OF THE LINKS I DO HAVE ON THIS COMPUTER...

FIRST, AN INTERVIEW WITH DAVID KAY, HEAD WMD INSPECTOR RIGHT AFTER THE WAR...

TB: David, as you know, a lot of the president’s political critics are going to say, “This is clear evidence that he lied to the American people.”

DK: Well, Tom, if we do that, I think we’re really hurting ourselves. Clearly, the intelligence that we went to war on was inaccurate, wrong. We need to understand why that was. I think if anyone was abused by the intelligence it was the president of the United States rather than the other way around. [I.E., BUSH DIDN'T LIE]

TB: The president described Iraq as a gathering threat — a gathering danger. Was that an accurate description?

DK: I think that’s a very accurate description.

TB: But an imminent threat to the United States? [WHICH BUSH NEVER SAID, BUT A COUPLE OF DEMS DID.]

DK: Tom, an imminent threat is a political judgment. It’s not a technical judgment. I think Baghdad was actually becoming more dangerous in the last two years than even we realized. Saddam was not controlling the society any longer. In the marketplace of terrorism and of WMD, Iraq well could have been that supplier if the war had not intervened.

True yonason;
I've also noticed some of the wikipedia entries are sometimes politically slanted. That wikipedia entry did not mention that Iran also had chemical weapons and had used them against Iraq early in the war, but even if the entry were somewhat tilted to being critical of Reagan, it still supports the point we knew Iraq had WMDs. I figured the moonbats would discount the Fox one and find Wikipedia more palatable.

I was searching for the list of WMDs we knew Iraq had to link, but was having trouble locating it on-line. So used Wikipedia as an expedient reference. Last time I read through the list was over a year ago and I couldn't find the FOIA link tonight. I'll keep looking. Maybe this will help, looks like several links to supporting news stories there:

Careful using Wikipedia, as it's not always reliable, especially where politically charged material is involved.

It wasn't the US government that transfered bio WMD technology to the Iranian government. The Iranians used it's university "research" facilities as front groups to acquire the technology from ATTC, "American Type Tissue Collection" which is not a governemt entity, and others. The regulations at the time allowed transfer of some pretty nasty stuff, as long as it was to "legitimate" research institutions. We weren't being careful enough, but we weren't deliberately consciously involved. It was a time when no one realized the danger, not only from Saddam but for almost anyone else. Pretty stupid, but not the conscious act that those who want to slander America in general, and the Reagan White House in particular, want it to be.

It's not the threat to America if Iran has nukes we are worried about. It's the threat to Israel. An Iranian nuke directed at Israel would not require intercontinental ballistic capability to reach it's target, and as such might not register on our ICBM early missile launch detection systems. Hence, there would be little or no forewarning.

Iraq DID have WMDs. The US government sold them to Iraq during the 1980-1988 Iraq/Iran War to defend itself against Iraq:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Iran-Iraq_War

The Iraqis used chemical weapons against the Iranians and even against possibly unreliable civilians of their own in Halabja.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
President Ronald Reagan decided that the United States "could not afford to allow Iraq to lose the war to Iran", and that the United States "would do whatever was necessary to prevent Iraq from losing the war with Iran." President Reagan formalized this policy by issuing a National Security Decision Directive ("NSDD") to this effect in June, 1982.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/U.S._support_for_Iraq_during_the_Iran%E2%80%93Iraq_war

Reagan/Bush administrations permitted — and frequently encouraged — the flow of money, agricultural credits, dual-use technology, chemicals, and weapons to Iraq.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
the Central Intelligence Agency secretly directed armaments and dual-use technology to Iraq through false fronts and friendly third parties such as Jordan, Saudi Arabia, Egypt and Kuwait, and they quietly encouraged rogue arms dealers and other private military companies to do the same.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Operation Staunch was created in spring 1983 by the United States State Department to stop the illicit flow of U.S. arms to Iran.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Arms_sales_to_Iraq_1973-1990

October 1, 2002, article entitled “Iraq Got Germs for Weapons Program from U.S. in ’80s,” Associated Press writer Matt Kelly wrote:

[The] Iraqi bioweapons program that President Bush wants to eradicate got its start with help from Uncle Sam two decades ago, according to government records that are getting new scrutiny in light of the discussion of war against Iraq.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention sent samples directly to several Iraqi sites that U.N. weapons inspectors determined were part of Saddam Hussein’s biological weapons program, CDC and congressional records from the early 1990s show. Iraq had ordered the samples, saying it needed them for legitimate medical research.

The CDC and a biological-sample company, the American Type Culture Collection, sent strains of all the germs Iraq used to make weapons, including anthrax, the bacteria that make botulinum toxin, and the germs that cause gas gangrene, the records show. Iraq also got samples of other deadly pathogens, including West Nile virus.

The transfers came in the 1980s, when the United States backed Iraq in its war against Iran.

Reagan knew much of what they had and this information would have been passed on to later presidents. The full lists were not made public. But; Bush Sr. knew it, Clinton knew it, Dubya knew it, the UN security counsel knew it, and all our NATO allies knew it. Our military found the chem labs we sold them and many other WMDs on the list. What were not accounted for were only the mobile missiles. Presumably, Saddam smuggled those into Syria. To get them out of Iraq before we invaded. He had several years to do that after refusing to adhere to unfettered UN inspections and then blocking them all together.

yellowcake;
Iran bought it's military gear from the USSR and China. Why would they threaten an arms supplier?

brandon;
You're thinking about Scud missiles which don't have the range to hit America or most of Europe if launched from Iran. Those couldn't even hit Israel. Here is a link to their ranges:
http://www.fas.org/nuke/guide/iran/missile/

However, we don't know what delivery system Iran has in mind to use. Ahmadinejad isn't saying, but his rhetoric seems to indicate he already has a plan. It's not 100% confirmed Iran doesn't have a better ballistic missile or ICBM capability or not. Russia wanted to sell off many of their older ICBM systems to Third World countries for newer multiple target-multiple warhead systems. NATO allies tried to block this, but it would be difficult to confirm if any were ever covertly sold and delivered.

You also say you're not worried about nuke attacks on America because we have patriot missile batteries. Oh really? How many have you seen set up on permanent watch on Main Street in your town? How about the Star Wars anti-missile systems program that Reagan wanted in space to give us a chance to intercept ICBMs that the Dems shot down? And neither would be very effective against a "suitcase bomb" nuke.

You also say you’re not worried about nuke attacks on America because we have patriot missile batteries. Oh really? How many have you seen set up on permanent watch on Main Street in your town? How about the Star Wars anti-missile systems program that Reagan wanted in space to give us a chance to intercept ICBMs that the Dems shot down? And neither would be very effective against a “suitcase bomb” nuke.

IRANIAN THREAT TO AMERICA

Those Damn fool Dems do not want to develop America's natural resources. They are content to rely on MidEast oil.

How could Iran hurt us? Take out America's ability to get that oil, ALL OF WHICH IS WITHIN THEIR REACH.

And they could put serveral missles on several tankers and sail them close enough to America to launch them from the high seas. And what they would do wouldn't be to nuke cities, but to generate an E.M.P. which would neutralize our communications, power distribution, vehicles, and much of our defense capability for many months to possibly even years.

Folks ! answer me now ? what kind of threat ? Iran' ancient insignificant missiles will not reach American territory !

If Iran has nukes, Russia is at risk, China also. Europe is threatened. USA is not. If this is true, where are Russia, China, EU countries? Are they suicidal?

@Scott Malensek:

LOL

Yeah, dark humor (no racial overtones meant). Who are we gonna believe, them, or our lying eyes.

But just how much of that stuff does he mean, and how much is saying to apeal to the "moderate" conservatives? Who was it that said, "move to the center to get elected, then move the "center" to the Left once you are"? or something to that effect.

Anyway, we need to keep Obama out, and hopefully keep other far Left Dems out, too. In the mean time, after we win, I hope someone FINALLY comes up with a plan how to take back our schools and media, because if we don't it will be as Even Sayet said in a podcast with Pamela Geller, (I paraphrase from memory) "If McCain is elected, we've bought a little more time" i.e., if we just do that, and nothing more, they will keep gaining ground and we will keep losing it. If not this election, then the next or the next, but eventually if we do nothing, they will win. Then we could really push back the clock, to say the 10th century?

In know Yonason. It's cool.

I do find it funny in a dark humor kinda way that those who claim the US is a warmongering rogue regime are also the same people who would vote for Sen Obama who:
vows to continue the war in Iraq For 16months min
wants to escalate the war in Afghanistan (ie The Graveyard of Empires)
admits his Pakistan policy re pre-emptive, unilateral attack is the same as Bush's
and has an Iran policy that's already been tried and failed (Iran refuses to talk to us)

Some people just need to see a D next to the name, and then they'll come up w all kinds of excuses to worship em
