I’ve got some links on my other computer, but getting them out is more trouble than I want to invest at the moment. As to finding those links on line, the farther away in time the less likely it is. I’ve got sites that I bookmarked 8 years ago which are still active, but I couldn’t find today without those bookmarks if my life depended upon it. And I think that’s on thing the dishonest ones are trying to accomplsh by posting so many false and/or misleading reports – to bury the truth. It’s like the fellow who’s whispering the truth in a lynch mob. No one’s going to hear him, and the incited nuts who are driving the crowd aren’t going to listen even if they do hear.

I’ve also noticed some of the wikipedia entries are sometimes politically slanted. That wikipedia entry did not mention that Iran also had chemical weapons and had used them against Iraq early in the war, but even if the entry were somewhat tilted to being critical of Reagan, it still supports the point we knew Iraq had WMDs. I figured the moonbats would discount the Fox one and find Wikipedia more palatable.

I was searching for the list of WMDs we knew Iraq had to link, but was having trouble locating it on-line. So used Wikipedia as an expedient reference. Last time I read through the list was over a year ago and I couldn’t find the FOIA link tonight. I’ll keep looking. Maybe this will help, looks like several links to supporting news stories there:

Careful using Wikipedia, as it’s not always reliable, especially where politically charged material is involved.

It wasn’t the US government that transfered bio WMD technology to the Iranian government. The Iranians used it’s university “research” facilities as front groups to acquire the technology from ATTC, “American Type Tissue Collection” which is not a governemt entity, and others. The regulations at the time allowed transfer of some pretty nasty stuff, as long as it was to “legitimate” research institutions. We weren’t being careful enough, but we weren’t deliberately consciously involved. It was a time when no one realized the danger, not only from Saddam but for almost anyone else. Pretty stupid, but not the conscious act that those who want to slander America in general, and the Reagan White House in particular, want it to be.

It’s not the threat to America if Iran has nukes we are worried about. It’s the threat to Israel. An Iranian nuke directed at Israel would not require intercontinental ballistic capability to reach it’s target, and as such might not register on our ICBM early missile launch detection systems. Hence, there would be little or no forewarning.

Iraq DID have WMDs. The US government sold them to Iraq during the 1980-1988 Iraq/Iran War to defend itself against Iraq:

What were not accounted for were only the mobile missiles. Presumably, Saddam smuggled those into Syria. To get them out of Iraq before we invaded. He had several years to do that after refusing to adhere to unfettered UN inspections and then blocking them all together.

However, we don’t know what delivery system Iran has in mind to use. Ahmadinejad isn’t saying, but his rhetoric seems to indicate he already has a plan. It’s not 100% confirmed Iran doesn’t have a better ballistic missile or ICBM capability or not. Russia wanted to sell off many of their older ICBM systems to Third World countries for newer multiple target-multiple warhead systems. NATO allies tried to block this, but it would be difficult to confirm if any were ever covertly sold and delivered.

You also say you’re not worried about nuke attacks on America because we have patriot missile batteries. Oh really? How many have you seen set up on permanent watch on Main Street in your town? How about the Star Wars anti-missile systems program that Reagan wanted in space to give us a chance to intercept ICBMs that the Dems shot down? And neither would be very effective against a “suitcase bomb” nuke.

But just how much of that stuff does he mean, and how much is saying to apeal to the “moderate” conservatives? Who was it that said, “move to the center to get elected, then move the “center” to the Left once you are”? or something to that effect.

Anyway, we need to keep Obama out, and hopefully keep other far Left Dems out, too. In the mean time, after we win, I hope someone FINALLY comes up with a plan how to take back our schools and media, because if we don’t it will be as Even Sayet said in a podcast with Pamela Geller, (I paraphrase from memory) “If McCain is elected, we’ve bought a little more time” i.e., if we just do that, and nothing more, they will keep gaining ground and we will keep losing it. If not this election, then the next or the next, but eventually if we do nothing, they will win. Then we could really push back the clock, to say the 10th century?

vows to continue the war in Iraq For 16months min

admits his Pakistan policy re pre-emptive, unilateral attack is the same as Bush’s
