I’ve had an unhinged dem yelling in my face while at work on several occasions.

To be fair, I’ve had Ron Paul supporters do the same, only with slightly more rationality.

Obama is telling his supporters to “get in their faces” because that’s one of the few ways to fight the Republican lying distraction machine. Tell the GOP to quit spreading grass root lies and maybe their won’t be democrats “in your face”.

Do you not see the lies and dishonesty coming from the left as well? Do you not think that most journalists are in the tank, cheerleading for Obama? Maybe McCain should ask Republican voters to “get in their faces” as well?

The reason why I think this is a bit of a “big deal”, Dan, is that it totally undermines Obama’s facade as a “new kind of candidate” who will rise above divisive partisan politics and the “way things are done in Washington”. He’s essentially abandoned all pretense of running a clean, respectful campaign and has resorted to the kind of politics that he said he was above. He can no longer lay claim to taking the high road.

While he constantly claimed McCain was running a dirty campaign, in the same breath, he was doing the same thing, from day one, offering insults, distorting facts, perpetuating the 100 years myth even after he should have known better.

Really? I’ve never had a democrat in my face.

To elaborate upon Mike’s examples, it’s when Code Pink and IVAW crash the RNC and draw attention to themselves; it’s when protesters make public nuisances of themselves by lying in the streets, tying up traffic, getting arrested, getting belligerent with police, in a sense, forcing their politics upon others who just want to get about their business. It’s “getting in our faces” when you go up to the checkout counter to pay for your grocery, and the clerk assumes it’s alright to start bashing Bush. Conservatives might have pro-Bush and pro-troop bumperstickers; but it is the left, in general, who have anti-conservative, anti-Bush, anti-Republican bumperstickers, and hippie mobiles will sport them, en masse. I’ve even seen stickers plastered to the front-end of cars. T-shirts that read “Buck Fush”; conservatives getting shouted down from speaking at universities. I’ve had some stranger start shouting at me in disbelief, simply because I picked up a pro-Bush book to read the jacket cover (this was before the 2004 election), while at Barnes & Noble.

It’s when that Brit felt it was an appropriate forum at the MTV music awards to make derogatory comments about Palin, Bristol, and Bush. When other Hollywood celebs use the Oscars and Emmy’s as a platform to push their politics as well.

For the record, I don’t think Obama’s a Muslim, although I understand Aye Chihuahua’s original point. I think you might have ticked everyone off with your first comment, which kind of set the tone. Everything just went down hill from there.

Anyway, I think people should just calm down and quit turning into pitbulls upon the first slight.

I am trying so hard to figure out whom you are, Dan. But, you don’t seem to know yourself who you really are. Let’s try to figure it out:

- You say you are not a republican.

- But then again you say: “I consider myself fiscally conservative. I’m also conservative when it comes to the amount of government we have”.

- You do not believe in God.

- You also pretend that you are not a Democrat.

- You do not see yourself as a liberal/progressive

- You approve Palin’s email hacking. You see non problem with that.

- You think the author of this article is so wrapped up in his own beliefs that he’ll never be able to post anything rational.

- Then you complain that YOU are being insulted. WOW!

- You do not believe in facts.

- You have no argument whatsoever.

- You argue about Obama’s religion, regardless of all his Muslim friends and Muslim countries supporting him. It doesn’t worry you one bit.

So tell me? Who the hell are you? Where do you stand? Not on the truth side, that’s for sure. Neither on the side of democraty and rights. So what his your motivation, and finally, what is your point?

And what do you have against McCain/Palin? What do you like so much about Obamarafat? I think you are a lost soul completely disconnected from reality. You do not seem to be able to understand the difference between right and left and good and evil. I sure do hope there is not too many Americans like you out there, because if so, USA is in real danger. Inside enemies are the worst enemies a country can have.

In some ways I feel sorry for him.
