great article, speaking of people who “just dont get it”!!!!! When is the McCain camp gonna put out a tv ads of exactly why and who’s to blame for high gas prices and what he’s prepared to do about it. I think that would be the easiest and best ways to win and pick up seats in the senate and house, name names and use a percentage of democrats to republicans on the history of those votes dating back to the 80′S. Obama changed nothing in Chicago, just went along with the flow. McCain/Palin has a history of bringing change, we cant just “hope” that obama will change.

Those ecocatastrophists democrats listening to their guru Gogore, wants us to return to the rock age. I sure wish that the McCain/Palin ticket will win this election and start off-shore drilling even if they have to veto the Congress to do so.

Had the people of Texas and the gulf states only listened to the Obamamessiah and inflated their tires! Not only would they have improved their gas mileage and saved gas but their cars would have floated safely through the storm. See, the Obamamessiah really does walk on water.

Err… why isn’t he down there multiplying loaves of bread and fish?

At least he could be in the areas hardest hit organizing communities, couldn’t he? Isn’t he a community organizer?

Somewhere in Arkansas and Tennessee it was up to $8.00 per gallon. It made several news reports on FOX before the President spoke. I know, someone is going to go batty because the information came from FOX, oh well.

Gas prices rose 40 cents here in St Louis area in 1 day. I did not see what the price was today though, did not leave the house. But we need more refineries becaause having almost all in one area is a very bad idea. Every time a hurricane comes by, prices will rise with or without the global market.

I read somewhere that Montana or a state out west was going to have a bill on the elections on if they should build a refinery there or not. I do not have the link, but read about it a few months ago. It would be the first new refinery in over 30 years.

  7. Stix: There is a new refinery slated for South Dakota. Dems are fighting it every step of the way:

As Anne Coulter once said: “until jet planes run on woodchips we are stuck with oil.” (paraphrase)

Apparently Democrats would have us all riding a horse and buggy (oops… can’t do that either, too much manure).

Any Democrat who really wants to set an example can join this lovely movement:

“We’re going to have a bold energy plan that says that we are going to reduce our dependence on foreign oil by 20 or 30 percent over the course of a decade or two. We are going to ask all citizens to participate in that process, not just government, but each and every one of us are going to have — are going to make commitments in terms of increasing fuel efficiency in our cars and homes, and the government is going to be in partnership with citizens to make that happen..”Obama at Columbia

Interesting that virtually nobody seemed to notice this metric. This isn’t even on the Obamas web site.

With Al Gore and all the ads from people telling us … independent in 10 years, and the US 70% dependent on foreign oil .. it looks like it will be at least 3 or 4 decades to be independent, if at all, under the Obama plan.

With cries for “energy independence” dating back to before Carter, somehow Obama’s plan doesn’t seem very bold and it certainly isn’t bringing independence any time soon. It may slow the bleeding, but it really underscores the necessity of opting for all energy sources.

Yes South Dakota. I remember hearing about how they were going to vote for it. Hopefully they will be able to build it and get some sanity to our energy policies.

  10. And it looks like that South Dakota project is a money maker for the state and a creator of jobs for South Dakotans.

With Democrats constanly worrying over what they call the sad state of our economy you would think they would be all in favor of adding millions of high paying jobs in the energy sector.

But then, YOU would think. Something that is apparently above the pay grade for most Democrats.

Yes they can not go against Gaia. There God with AlGore as the Goracle to the Chruch of Manbearpig.

I still wonder if all the Algore Disciples kn ow that it has not warmed since 98 and this is the coldest year in a long time. Here in St. Louis we had no days over 100 degrees the whole summer. That is very rare. I know it is just my own area, but it was cooler in Chicago, and all over the MIdwest all summer long. I think we are in for a cold and snowy Winter this year.

I trust the Farmer Almanac before the Goracle any day.

If only Democrats in Congress would listen!

They are listening all right. To the environmentalists, the Saudis and Soros. Probably to Iran and Venzuela also. I wish the American people would get a clue and wonder why the dems don’t want to drill. It’s as simple as ABC.
