Don’t know what I would have to say to Halcro, radix2. It’s highly unlikely he would be swayed from his current path of driving the hint of scandal. He has his own reasons, and nothing anyone says will deter him save a lawsuit for slander and/or libel by the Palins. And I doubt they will do that.

Perhaps he’d like to be seen as a whistle blower, but don’t see that happening. I think he’s very aware that many of us feel he’s got a personal bone to pick, and is on a less than classy vendetta.

Ric, you are maybe on to something with the wife and time on the Internet. There’s 30 comments there now, and mine is included. Another one from CJ… he rattles off the local players many others aren’t aware of (i.e. Lyda Green, Ruedrick) off so easily that he’s either well read, or also a local.

The extreme ends of either belief – liberal/progressive or conservative – are a problem for everyone. Fact is, most of the nation is moderate with slight leanings right or left. So it doesn’t surprise me that the fringe right have as much problem with Palin as the fringe left.

Then again, I always have a problem with those in “the fringe”… LOL

Which rolls me right into Scott Williams post #3. I don’t think Obama has anything to do with French, Halcro, Green, and Wooten’s dedication to take Sarah down. In fact, I’d wager Palin’s got plenty of those who hold no goodwill for her since she’s cut into their political corruption, and locked the cookie jar. As Alaskan pollster Dave Dittman said, the Alaskan “landscape is littered with the bodies of those who crossed Sarah Palin”.

It includes Ruedrich, Renkes, Murkowski, gubernatorial contenders John Binkley and Andrew Halcro, the three big oil companies in Alaska, and a section of the Daily News called “Voice of the Times,” which was highly critical of Palin and is now defunct.

One of her first acts as governor was to fire the Alaska Board of Agriculture. Her ultimate target was the state Creamery Board, which has been marketing the products of Alaska dairy farmers for 71 years and wanted to close down after receiving $600,000 from the state. “You don’t just close your doors and walk away,” Palin told me. She discovered she lacked the power to fire the Creamery Board. Only the board of agriculture had that authority. So Palin replaced the agriculture board, which appointed a new creamery board, which has rescinded the plan to shut down.

This is originally a local vendetta, not a national one. However I’m sure this is a pleasant surprise for Obama camp. They had the wind sapped out of their sails by Palin, and frankly, they never saw it coming. So they consider this a bonus. They will monitor it, aid quietly if possible… as long as they are not seen as the driving force behind it. That would be a death knell to their quest.

Yo #5… stay knowledgable is the answer. Be aware of the games pols play, and the media’s aid to them… mostly by being lazy about research. I guarantee, if you are aware of the Personnel Board’s investigation, and you see the blazing headlines about Palin “refusing” to cooperate in the legislative investigation, a slow smile will cross your face because *you* will know… and *you* will not be fooled.

And all you can do is share your knowledge so that there is an electorate that knows more than the underinformed media.

Somewhere…I’ll have to find it again…I ran across a discussion of this that indicated that French had clearly overstepped his bounds in what he had revealed and was at risk legally. Don’t remember the ups and downs. If I find it, I’ll post it. qando???

Isn’t there something we can do? Can we write to the individual legislators and tell them how petty this is all sounding? Or can we write to that Personnel Board and ask them to please make a decision on this ASAP? Are the Republicans in the Legislature (I heard it is Republican controlled) doing this to get back at Palin because she exposed the corruption of the Republicans? Why wouldn’t they exert their power and influence and just make the thing go away if they want to see a Republican ticket in the White House.

Sorry for all the questions guys but I’m a new Republican as my Democratic Party left me so I left them.

MaraHarley, it was not instantaneous nor was it greater than over night. I do not know Andrew but since I live in AK I am keenly aware that he does have a life (and a wife whom he has written or spoken of recently that has urged him to spend less time with the CPU).

While I have your attn: Have you seen the response from the “traditionalist” far right to Palin? I always thought the left/right deal was linear, but in reality it is a circle. The far right is as noxious as the left, but more subtle. Maybe I just don’t get out enough.

The comment is up, as well as 29 other ones. His Mrs. might have had a friend over and given him an opportunity to disappear to den.

So the question i have to ask is how many of the lawyers Obama sent to Alaska are working with French to keep this muddied and alive? French wouldn’t be playing this hard on his own, the backlash form voters in Anchorage could remove him from office pretty quick.

And yes, I have seen Halcro behave well. For example on that Todd Palin BS youtube video some idiot was trying to spread as a smear. He called it not only false, but “embarrassing”.

So I believe that even he has his limits on how low to go. However some of his concoctions to link Palin to the medical records really bounder on desperate fantasy. And it is his theories that are driving French.
