What’s really nuts is, there are so many liberals and Obama supporters…like Oprah, for example…who exemplify, and have even promoted, the “pull yourself up by your own bootstraps, take responsibility for yourself” mindset. Remember when Oprah sponsored that luncheon with Sidney Poitier? She and everyone around the table drank up everything Sidney had to say, and his was a quintessentially American story of perseverance and individual effort and taking responsibility and not whining and complaining. Yet she also admires this whiner who has had it a hundred times easier than Poitier. It’s so schizophrenic.

I smile, and I’m not particularly filled w hate-a lot of disdain for what certain people like Howard Dean have done to deliberately divide the nation (see also, Reid, Pelosi, and others), but not hate. Actually, come to think of it, I think it’d be an absolute BLAST to go out drinking w Howard Dean. OMG, get that guy liquored up and, YEAAAAAAH!!!! But his politics….his deliberate division of the nation for partisanship…best thing to do there is to counter it by calling for unity.

Like I said, I’ll probably vote for McCain (especially w Palin on the ticket!!!!), but some of Obama’s words should read deadnuts on target to all of us.

When politicians stop attacking each other and start pulling up votes, citizens, people from the opposition…that’s the candidate who I want. McCain can do that. Let’s see where he takes us in the RNC convention.

I won’t go to the hateground though. I’m tired of the us vs them. ‘Course, having said that, I am astounded that so many faux-anti-war Democrats have no problem at all w being in Iraq for 2 more years. That’s telling. It’s not new, but telling; reinforcing of the idea that opposition tot he war is mostly just a use of the war as a catalyst for expressing partisanship.

That wasn’t a speech, that was a plea for help from a deranged person. This is a dangerous time for America! We can withstand and combat outer enemy’s, but the Quislings among us, will bring this country down. Some like Scott will go down willingly with a smile, the rest of us must fight. I hate McCain, but will now actively campaign for him, we must keep Obama and those who are behind him away from 1600 Pennsylvania Ave. No ifs ands or buts. Wake up before its too late.

Adrian, I disagree. I think he very well may be the greatest Democrat since FDR-at LEAST one one level: the calls for national unity. Problem is, a few lines in a few speeches doesn’t offset the decade plus avalanche of far left partisanship, disinformation, propaganda, and misleading. It’s gonna take more than just a few “can’t we all get along” kinda moments. Still, Kerry, Gore, the pinhead tank boy from Mass…..you’ve gotta go all the way back to FDR to find a Dem who calls for national unity.

This nation has no limit when unified, but divided…we fall forever. At least the guy’s said a few things to slow the momentum.

Yup. Born into poverty and your expected to make something of yourself…ON YOUR OWN? No freaking way! How could government allow this? Why don’t they understand they are supposed to hold our hands, give us handouts if we are down on our luck and all that. So what did they just do in the middle of an energy crisis when in California we are paying $4 a gallon for gas? Went on vacation for five weeks. I guarantee you, two things they never miss – a pay raise and a vacation — and we should stop that and call them back and not raise your taxes. We should not and cannot raise taxes in tough economic times.
