For me, I personally believe that the Presidency has become a place where taking political stands is too difficult-too costly in polls/power-to actually steer the ship that is America. Instead, I think most post-Kennedy Presidents (not all, but most) have and will be riders of the river that is history. To that end, I think the most important thing nowadays MIGHT be how well the man/woman can lead the nation-not just lead Republicans, not just lead Democrats, but lead all Americans (particularly those who don’t pay attention to the rest of the world and cast their votes on how a candidate sounds or against a candidate’s swagger or trival bs. Back in 04, Edwards was principled. He supported the war, and I thought he could lead Democrats away from their deliberate division of America towards a unifying position of standing up to dictators, tyrants, and terrorists. In 06, he lost my support when he came to Akron and backed striking workers at Goodyear. He also completely changed his position on the war in 06, and began the uber-pandering that kept him in the race. He lost my support. He lost my belief that he was principled, and now, he’s lost my respect.

I think Sen Obama’s got the same thing that Sen Edwards had in 04, and since his foreign policy is a continuation of the Bush foreign policy, I’m not all that uncomfortable w him winning. I do think, however, that Sen McCain is infinitely more qualified. So-FOR ME-it comes down to a choice between a massively qualified guy who probably can’t lead the nutroots and end their need oppose rather than support America’s war effort OR a guy who can lead the entire nation, but can’t muster enough integrity and resolve to answer even the simplest of questions without sounding like he’s parsing the response or adding a buzzillion ass-covering-caveats (when was the last time Obama simply said, “Yes.” or “no” or “absolutely”?)

When it comes to politicians I despise (as a politician), he ranks at the top of my list.

As for his personal business, I don’t care much to know about it.

The police had no way of knowing the residents were not involved until serving that warrant and questioning the suspects. After which they found the real perps.

Prince George’s County police arrested two men involved in a scheme to transport marijuana. Once packages were dropped off by a deliveryman, a suspect would pick them up — with the addressee oblivious to the plot. Larry Sinclair’s news conference.

Next came Larry Sinclair’s arrest after his news conference at
the National Press Club. A DC warrant was fabricated for the arrest.

Next came more lies, smears and discreditation attempts by Jane
Hamsher and others aligned with the Obama Campaign.

From the beginning, the press, the MSM, has failed to do their job.
There is enough information, facts, about Obama, to cause any
intelligent, inquisitive news organization to dig beneath the
surface and discern the truth about the Larry Sinclair Story.

What about all the NYT insinuation that McCain was baning a lobbyist? That was ok to report, but it’s not ok to report this story-a story where a Dem Presidential candidate admits to screwing around, and then he made his wife-who is dying of cancer-suffer the indignation of media specualtion indefinitely…well, until the party told him to stop putting his wife through that.

Makes it clear this man puts party before family, and if he does that, then he surely put party before country.
