About That Non-Political Speech In Germany

Yeah, nothing political about that Germany speech:

Shortly after 6 pm Central time — just a few hours after Sen. Barack Obama, D-Illinois, gave his speech in Berlin, which his campaign insisted was not political — his campaign manager, David Plouffe, sent out a fundraising solicitation using the speech to raise campaign cash.

“As you may have heard, Barack has been in Europe, the Middle East, and Asia this week,” reads the email, with a big red “DONATE” sign. “Today, he spoke in Berlin, Germany. In a city where a wall once divided the free from the oppressed, he talked about tearing down the walls that divide all peoples so we can address our common problems — the threats of terrorism and nuclear weapons, global warming and genocide, AIDS and poverty. Watch Barack’s historic speech and share it with your friends.”

Nothing about Obama’s campaign surprises me anymore. Not even the fact that during his campaign stop err…visit to Afghanistan he blew off quite a few soldiers.

UPDATE

This part of the email (from the link above) from a soldier who was present for Obama’s visit to Iraq should surprise no one:

95% of base wanted nothing to do with him. I have met three troops who support him, and literally hundreds who regard him as a buffoon, a charlatan, a hindrance to their mission or a flat out enemy of progress. Even when the rumors were publicly admitted, almost no one left their duty sections to try to see him, unless they were officers whose presence was officially required.

Oh my word… you read those links to ConfedYankee, yes Curt? This man is not only inefficient, a socialist/Marxist, affirmative action proponent and an arrogant asshole… he is an embarrassment as a wannabe Commander in Chief.

I’ll trust the instincts of our soldiers who watched him snub the military. No surprise, mind you. But that the press let him get away with that, and instead went only to present “the show” is unbelievable.

Asked by a Democratic lawmaker a while back why there weren’t more Democrats in the military, General Petraeus smiled slyly and said “there are more than you think.”

seeing as how dems want to destroy this country and her military, i would think fit fit would refran from comment. oslima has done nothing but try and down all of our men and women ion uniform and he thinks he can snubs soldiers who lay down thier very lives so he can be a socialist pig. he is a joke and an embarassment to all americans who have fought for this nation. i suppose one could hope for an amazing event, like the msm opening thier eyes, or soem other calamity, but that could just be hoping all the libs pull their heads fromtheir rearends.

Yea, luva. Remember how the Clintoons snubbed our military? Obambi will be even worse, having showed his true feelings about our military during this trip.

    From JOM:

    Question for legal beagles here:

Germany paid for part of this trip/sermon/campaign rally. Obama has sent out a fund raising letter talking about his speech. Is it legal for him to split the cost of a campaign visit with a foreign government?

Or did it violate Senate rules ?

Current polling suggests McCain enjoys about a 60%-40% lead with veterans. .

Other polls seem to indicate similar numbers with those currently enlisted. These are hardly shocking numbers, conservatives are more likely to enlist. However, as much as many like to pretend otherwise, conservatives do not hold a monopoly on patriotism.

The statement about the level of support among troops is blatant example of partisan hyperbole.

C’mon back home B. Hussein O. European Vacation time is over. C’mon back home and tell us about the miracles you’ll perform to produce energy for all. Explain to the American people, why oh why, you and your disciples in Congress refuse to address the #1 concern for all Americans – the pain at the pump. Tell us, oh shining one, why sky rocketing fuel prices are good for us and why Drilling is bad. We await you with pitchforks in hand.

The men and women of the US military are people of character who are clearly excellent judges of character.
Thank you for what you do folks, and what you don’t do!!
