If you wanted to be honest, you would admit that you, along with your lefty pals have opposed nearly EVERY military program that keeps this nation safe. Can you name one you DO support?

And I doubt you have yet to realize how important just the idea of a U.S. missile defense shield was in bringing the Soviets to the bargaining table.

The Russians didn’t sit there and say “well, Star Wars isn’t perfect yet so we don’t have to worry.”

Nope. President Reagan’s speech announcing the program was enough to spur the Soviets to become more oriented towards diplomatic solutions to mutual problems and less oriented towards military solutions.

That’s historical reality. Do you comprehend that at all? Do you?

It is almost laughable that you lefties were so scared stiff of nuclear war with the Soviets and yet you did everything you could to block President Reagan’s efforts to successfully address the issue and WIN THE COLD WAR.

Would you have prefered we LOST the Cold War?

So, as I wrote, four decades and tens of billions of dollars later there is no system. There are a few successes in carefully orchestrated tests.

So it is better to let them send missiles in without any kind of defense. That sounds like a good idea, then we can send the FBI after them.

The missile defense system has made great strides and is a viable option in defending our country and our allies. Or did you miss all of the succceses it had over the past few years.

I still like “bomb bomb bomb Iran” better, but having a missile defense is better than nothing

“Arthur:” It’s a known fact that you and yours would gut our military. Former Georgia Senator Zell Miller famously asked if we would send our soldiers into combat “armed with what? Spitballs?”

Perhaps you would like to tell us which candidates for federal office you have voted for and supported that have been strong advocates of having a military with the best equipment, best training and support of any in the world? Did you personally support the B-2 program? Pershing II missile deployments in Europe in 1983 etc?

And I’d ask our naysaying friends to pay attention to Scott’s comment above. Would you now deprive us of a tool to use that is defensive in nature when we need every military asset possible to increase diplomatic pressure to avoid war?
