Folks are going to miss this President come January. I think he has been a great leader in very difficult times. He is a man who says what he means and does what he says. He is a man of character and real conviction and a man who knows the heavy burden of responsibility of sending young men to war. He did it because he knew it had to be done. We will thank him for it in the years to come… even if the media refuse to take their heads out of the sand! God bless our President!

WASHINGTON – Bush administration officials from Vice President Dick Cheney on down signed off on using harsh interrogation techniques against suspected terrorists after asking the Justice Department to endorse their legality, The Associated Press has learned.

The officials also took care to insulate President Bush from a series of meetings where CIA interrogation methods, including waterboarding, which simulates drowning, were discussed and ultimately approved.

A former senior U.S. intelligence official familiar with the meetings described them April 10 to the AP to confirm details first reported by ABC News on Wednesday. The intelligence official spoke on condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to publicly discuss the issue.

Between 2002 and 2003, the Justice Department issued several memos from its Office of Legal Counsel that justified using the interrogation tactics, including ones that critics call torture.

It has always seemed to me that far too many conservative commentators find torture to be a trivial thing and even something they are proud of… as long as it is being done to the right people. Philadelphia Steve isn’t alone on that assertion.

I’ve happened across this blog many times from other blogs and have found it to be a piece of trash. The articles range from tabloid rants about things like “Hellbollah-style fist bumps” and trying to call anybody who doesn’t share your extreme wingnut views as “socialists”, “communists” and whatever labels you can dig up.

It is people like you (authors of this blog) who are keeping the United States from reaching its full potential by voting for people like Bush and for spreading the kind of intellectually dishonest crap that you do. Give it up… things went your way for the past seven years under the Bush administration and it utterly blew up in your collective face. Now it will take a generation to undo the damage.

Do a search on Steve’s asinine attacks and copy/paste mantras. There IS no substance in his comments. The above comment he made is a flat out LIE and attack which I will not accept. I have given Steve substance in many other responses, as have others for months. Steve responds with a copy/paste response and then BS like the above.
