The presidency of Iran is mostly a figurehead position similar to that of Israel. The real power lies in the council of mullahs. The President of Iran does not have the same type of powers as say the President of the United States, he is not the military leader of Iran.

A “figurehead position” is pretty powerful in & of itself. Just watch the “Death to America/Death to Israel” rants & tell me there is no power there.
