Word, I’ll see your 2% and raise a 0.5% for President Bush being too concerned with reaching across the isle and letting the Democrats, like Ted Kennedy write bills and policy (which is now only attached to our President). Instead he should have cleaned out the CIA/FBI/DoD/DoS of his predessesor’s appointees (as most every other modern President, including Clinton, had) who still sabotage his efforts today.

He tried to bring change to DC and got stabbed in the back. It is one of his failings in my opinions (though some say it is a strength in his desire to change DC’s culture) that he has not yet realized DC will not change.

Actually Steve, I met a few of the Army officers who were cash dispersment officers in 2003 and 04. They had to carry around cash to get contracts in place and get basic services BUILT (not rebuilt since Saddam used water/power/etc as a tool for control). These young officers, many Captains and even senior 1LTs kept all sorts of records and were responsible for the money given them. They were replaced by the JCCI (Joint Contracting Command Authority) which is still in place. You can even see their contract solicitations on FEDBIZOPS.

Considering I trusted more than a few of these officers with my life, I hold their accountability and honor far above what I hold yours or virtually all the left’s.

Not. It was not. The point was that no one in the Bush team even knew who received it when it landed inBaghdad, let alone who dispersed it. there were no records at all, other than it left the US on about 170 pallets.

And not one single Conservative, here or anywhere else, thinks that there is even the slightest thing wrong with this. Not one single Conservative, while heaping 100% of the blame for the September 11 attacks on Bill Clinton, will even hold Gerorge W. Bush’s Administration 1% resposible for this lost money, or anything else.

On the same tenor as your comment, I am very curious to see how the next Democrat President handles a recession on day 1, or a terrorist attack 8months into their admin (God forbid). Barring a terrorist attack, I wonder how the next Democrat-Commander-in-chief will explain the first Iraq casualty on their watch, and how argumentative oppositionists spin it rather than face it (see also the spin after Dems took office on promise of ending war in Iraq…when they didn’t end it). Another point to remember is GWB and his team were almost up against inauguration day before they could even put their transition team in place because of all the flap with Gore in Florida.

Remember all the pictures in the papers of the offices of the transition team sitting empty while the courts were working over the election outcome.
