I also went to Knox. I was born there. I went through Officer Basic, The Captains Career Course, and a few others. We are well trained, but we kill within the regulations set by the Law of Land Warfare (FM 27-10). Our enemies kill indiscriminately and wantonly, we do not. Psycho killers are not wanted or needed in the US Armed Forces. Our enemies “hug” civilians to use as shields. If we were what these Berkeley morons thought we are, then we would gun down the civilians to get to the jihadists. Instead, we use our better training and technology to shoot around the civilians as much as possible, resulting in an extremely high amount of head shots on our targets.

That is what a professional military is all about. Though I am trying to remember when we had Infantry AIT at Polk, so you may be way before my time.

The Iraqis understand this and appreciate our professionalism and it is one of the many reasons they turned against AQI and the Maadis. Berkeley officials obviously do not appreciate this and seem upset we are defeating AQI and the Maadis.

I never was a Marine, so I can’t speak for them. But I did go through basic training at Ft. Knox, Kentucky and Advanced Infantry Training at Ft. Polk, Louisiana. When I graduated from there I was, indeed, a well trained killer. That’s what the military is all about, son.

If a Republican wins the Presidency, and/or Republicans win either house of Congress, this will continue and spread. It doesn’t matter if it’s the war in Iraq or something else. US forces could evacuate Iraq tomorrow, and they’d rant against the oppression of the Afghans. Every President fights a war, and you can guarantee this will happen again and more loudly when the next troop deployment or air campaign begins.

There are three consistent factors for the post Vietnam anti-war/anti-military movement:

1) it will not bring peace

2) it will not go away

3) peace, and anti-war sentiments are only the vocal and visual catalysts for deeper political frustration and alienation most of which is only remotely tied to opinions based or formed around war.

Ironically, uber-left moonbat David Corn (currently a writer for Mother Jones) said it best in 2002. He pointed out that anti war groups like ANSWER etc are being used by political extremists to push agendas that are not in America’s best interests, but are instead in support of the radical interests of their political organizers. He also pointed out the danger that such a movement could pose to the Democratic Party if if became large, organized, and well-funded. He was right. ‘Course, as soon as the anti-war movement embraced BDS, he joined the lovefest too. Why? Because it embraced BDS; an expression of misguided/misled political dissatisfaction, alienation, frustration that has little to do with war, and everything to do with being deliberately misled by people with wacked out political aims. Among those aims are commonly: socialism, globalism (the removal of US sovereignty in favor of UN sovereignty), fascism, communism, marxism, and even anarchy.

So now that they have been called out, recorded, and found that their actions have consequences, the “brave” city council who “stood up” to Marines who would not harm them no matter how many times Code Pink slandered them, berated them, and vandalized their recruiting station, are now backtracking in fear when the only language they understand (earmarks) are put in play.
