Don’t Agree On Global Warming? Go To Jail!

Ahhhhh, the sound of those open minded liberals squawking once again: (h/t Newsbusters)

David Suzuki has called for political leaders to be thrown in jail for ignoring the science behind climate change.

At a Montreal conference last Thursday, the prominent scientist, broadcaster and Order of Canada recipient exhorted a packed house of 600 to hold politicians legally accountable for what he called an intergenerational crime. Though a spokesman said yesterday the call for imprisonment was not meant to be taken literally, Dr. Suzuki reportedly made similar remarks in an address at the University of Toronto last month.

Toward the end of his speech, Dr. Suzuki said that “we can no longer tolerate what’s going on in Ottawa and Edmonton” and then encouraged attendees to hold politicians to a greater green standard.

“What I would challenge you to do is to put a lot of effort into trying to see whether there’s a legal way of throwing our so-called leaders into jail because what they’re doing is a criminal act,” said Dr. Suzuki, a former board member of the Canadian Civil Liberties Association.

“It’s an intergenerational crime in the face of all the knowledge and science from over 20 years.”

It’s a crime to question the bad science of man-made global warming now. Now you can understand why I call them environazi’s, because that is exactly where they are going with this. To throw someone in jail for pointing out that their science is just plain unproven is ludicrous. But to that leftist at least it all makes sense.

Maybe they will go after The Climate Skeptic for making this great 10 minute compilation of his longer 60 minute version about the science of global warming, and how unreliable it is:

Or maybe they will go after Penn & Teller for calling bullshit on the hysteria:

The fact is there is NO consensus on man-made global warming (check here for a list of 2660 Physicists, Geophysicists, Climatologists, Meteorologists, Oceanographers, and Evironmental Scientists who don’t believe the hype). The debate is NOT over, nor should it ever be. Which reminds me of a great quote from George Will recently:

“People only insist that a debate stop when they are afraid of what might be learned if it continues.”

And believe me, they are deathly afraid of losing that funding that keeps them in that lifestyle they so enjoy right now. These people are not about a cleaner planet, they are about a leftist urge to redistribute wealth in my opinion. Taxes on CO2 accomplishes this quite well. It will choke economic growth in the US while punishing the consumers.

“A climate change response must have at its heart a redistribution of wealth and resources,”
Emma Brindal

“When the chips are down I think democracy is a less important goal than is the protection of the planet from the death of life, the end of life on it. [Carbon rationing] has got to be imposed on people whether they like it or not.”
Mayer Hillman

Libs are trying to criminalize any behavior they disagree with. Look what happened to Scooter Libby!

And they say that BUSH is a threat to Civil Liberties? Who is it that is forcing their way into my house telling me what kind of light bulbs to buy, what kind of washing machine I can own, what kind of toilet I can use?

And now, they want to toss us in jail if we fail to comply?

Dr. Suzuki is a jerk.

That does not mean thatGlobal Warming is not happening, nor that it will not cause havoc. Just that Dr Suuzki is a jerk.

It’s a shame we can’t edit out some of those who aree with us as it causes no end of embarrsment when we have to exend time either trying to defend some of their indefensible comments, or pretending they do not xist.

Fortuately Conservatives do not have this problem: Everyone on that side of the political spectrum are perfect human beings, with no creeps, jerks or other assorted idiots.

I hate it when you have a depressive day in the midst of a manic one Steve. When you hit a low, you start this projectionism again and miss this fact. Either that or someone in your family pissed you off again.

The difference is, we debate within our side. Unles you missed the conservative reaction to Shamesty, prescrition drug expansion, the Bush-Kennedy “no child left behind” act, campaign finance “reform”, etc and so on.

The people quoted in the above topic, unfortunatly, are not alone in their call for imprisioning those of us who question them and their findings.

I was being ironic.

But that does not mean that Dr. Suzuki still isn’t a jerk.

Ok, I see. Conservatives, for lack of better terms, excommunicated David Duke and his ilk. Maybe the left should do so with people like Dr. Suzuki and Co.

I’ve met Dr. Suzuki — he is a pompous jackass, and another hypocritical alarmist who lives in several homes and enjoys a private jet ride here and there…clean your own backyard before complaining about ours.

These same people don’t give a rat’s arse about the unborn, the elderly, or the disabled — Suzuki is a geneticist by trade, which means he has what credentials for pontificating on the environment? I thought so….

I don’t know about this Suzuki asshat other than from this article you cited written by Tim Ball.

Tim Ball is one of the handfull of shills who are regularly dusted off and paraded around by conservatives as a dissenting scientist. Keep an eye peeled for his shiny cranium the next time you see a “Global warming is a sham to steal all of your money through taxes” expose.

He is also one of the founders of “Friends of Science”

Dispite his claims to the contrary in Glenn Beck’s Exposed: Climate of Fear – Ball regularly recieves oil industry funding.

BALL: “If I had gone along with the prevailing wisdom, the funding would have been enormous. Instead, I`m accused of getting the money from the oil company, which is simply a lie.”

Cry me a river – I don’t for a second believe you are soo persecuted as a skeptic “because the other 99% of the scientific community is just plain greedy and corruptible.” – WAH! The reason Ball is not IN the scientific community is he hasn’t published anything since 1996. That’s 12 years of sucking on the oily teat without any research contribution.

You may not receive it directly Ball – but founding the funding group “Friends of Science” to receive the funds and then giving them to yourself does not change the origin of the money.

I’ll leave you with this:

One more thing about Ball – the research he did was to study climate change based off of Hudson Bay Company and other historical Canadian records from 1714-1910. Giving him ZERO experience with current climate models or anything related to THE LAST HUNDRED YEARS.
