The now part is retraining the workforce. There are a shortage of workers in the medical field, in the rail road industry, in our shipping ports, in the police force and in the military among others. All those baby boomers (almost 80 million of them) are starting to retire and those jobs need to be filled. Something like 27% plan to stay and work past 65 but in 3 years the first batch will be turning 65. The government either should invest in retraining and collecting that money back in taxes or just wait it out and let it correct itself.
