Marie: Don’t get too excited about Fred in SC….Not sure it’s “his” territory. He’s been working the state (he didn’t just come and see me) and his numbers are still low.

It takes MONEY to raise a candidate’s visibility and Fred needs more dough to get some ads up here.

I was shocked Fred showed up even in 3rd place.

I am a Thompson Trooper, a FredHead, and I believe now that he knows he’s captured 3rd place in anything lol, he’s going to unleash something soon. Or maybe not.

Maybe his way of campaigning is working out, but when I saw his address to his supporters after the Iowa Results, he seemed full of fire.

I dont expect him to do well in New Hampshire, but I do In Soutn Carolina, he’s a Country boy in his territory in SC.

Marie, I love Fred so much it has almost become an obsession. Google “Igor R.” and “Fred Thompson” together and expand the shortened results and you will get the idea. Nevertheless, I have my own saying: stare reality in the eyes or it will bite you in the you-know-what. During the New Year’s celebration I was talking to three friends who I don’t see often and normally don’t discuss politics with about the race. I asked them who they were for, and every one was for Rudy. When I mentioned Fred, one looked at me funny and said “I want someone with a pulse”.

I also heard Rush talk this morning about something that I’ve been thinking about for weeks, that the country doesn’t seem to want a conservative now. I missed most of his monologue on the suject, and I’ll save my own thoughts for another time, but I think it’s true.

Marie, how could the illegal immigration champion McCain, who has almost destroyed the country about half a year ago do so well in Iowa without campaigning? He isn’t even a cult leader like Paul. People’s brains have turned to mush. They drink the Obama Kool-Aid when he says nothing but the word “change” repeated in every possible way. It has to take a random thing like the Bhutto assassination to focus people on foreign dangers. The President is expected to be a super-efficient action figure, that goes and fights destructive hurricanes like a true disaster-relief pro. Conservative message? Small government? Preserving the culture? The masses want help and security, and in their stupor they believe that the Federal Government is just the agency to deliver these to them.

Marie I think Fred can win, because his opponents all have serious faults. I don’t think the conservative message is enough, not this year. I remain hopeful, but I think realistic.

I’ve been for Fred before his exploration committee. Everyone says “I like Fred, we need Fred but….” It’s about time some folks took a stand. Are you picking a leader for the country or a winner in a popularity contest? Get out there good people, beat that Fred drum, wake the voters up!

It would really help if he could get a highly recognized and respected endorser.
