Now this is desperation. Trying to find anything to zing a candidate on:

Thompson does not have hunting licenseFred Thompson has made a point of visiting gun shops and gun shows while hitting the campaign trail in New Hampshire and South Carolina, usually with camera crews in tow.
But Thompson said Wednesday he does not have a hunting license, nor has be been hunting recently.
“It’s been too long, it’s been too long,” Thompson told CNN Wednesday.
Asked if he has a hunting license, Thompson said he currently does not.
“At the present time I do not, but I have been hunting plenty of times. I usually hunt birds and used to have my own skeet shoot, and I got a chance to shoot and practice a lot back then.”
Thompson, an ardent defender of Second Amendment rights, was appearing in Columbia to pick up the endorsement of South Carolina Citizens for Life.
Just yesterday, Thompson appeared at Blue Ridge Shooting Sports in Greer, South Carolina where he handled a gun and said he is “pretty much a shotgun man these days.”
And the point is?
Last time I checked the Second Amendment was not about hunting but in CNN’s little mind unless your a hunter, or currently hunting, you cannot nor should you support the Second Amendment.
These yahoo’s think conservatives all drive pickups with a bible in the front seat and a shotgun rack in the rear window. If you don’t have that then they figure your a fake conservative and print a silly ignorant article like CNN just did.
And they wonder why people are tuning away from these MSM outfits.

That looks like a nice benchrest gun in front, the one with the orange stock and tiger-stripes, big scope and thick fore-end.
Does he have a fishing license – don’t you buy one of those at the local bait-shop? Nowhere in the 2nd Amendment does it say anything about “hunting.”
Nothing to see here, folks. Move along.
I love Fred! I hope he turns out to be like the last actor we had as President. Well, okay, the last actor that was a member of the SAG. Unlike the actors that have played presidents after him. “I’m not an actor, but I play a president, senator or congress critter on TV”.
I’ve owned firearms since I was 15 years old. Had quite a large collection until Madeline Not-Too-Bright and Twice as Ugly came over and changed the status of forces agreement here in Germany. Most were destroyed by the U.S. Army I’ve served faithfully for over 30 years.
But I still have three… and I do not hunt. It just never thrilled me.
