One Response to Our Success Against The IED Threat

  1. Gregory Dittman says: 1

There were about 10 million planted land mines in Iraq. It’s going to be decades before that’s all cleaned up. Meanwhile the various groups, just like in the former Yugoslavia, will be able to modify these bombs and use them against their enemies or sell them to various terrorist groups. This doesn’t include the millions of rounds of ammo, grenades, and artillery rounds that people have collected.

Historically, mine clearing by hand has caused a 25% casualty rate, so the Iraqis can use any technological, educational and psychological help they can get to clean up the mess.
