Shocker! Katie Couric gets a bit upset when citizens of the United States says the word "we" when referring to this country. Because in her world we are citizens of the world first, THEN the United States. Here she is speaking to the National Press Club yesterday: (h/t Jonah Goldberg)
“The whole culture of wearing flags on our lapel and saying ‘we’ when referring to the United States and, even the ‘shock and awe’ of the initial stages, it was just too jubilant and just a little uncomfortable. And I remember feeling, when I was anchoring the ‘Today’ show, this inevitable march towards war and kind of feeling like, ‘Will anybody put the brakes on this?’ And is this really being properly challenged by the right people? And I think, at the time, anyone who questioned the administration was considered unpatriotic and it was a very difficult position to be in.”
Makes her uncomfortable ay? Showing pride in your country, a country many of us have volunteered to protect with our lives, whose family members have died doing just, makes her feel uncomfortable….poor Katie.
Just more living proof how liberal and completely ignorant these people in our MSM are.
“Everyone in this room would agree that people in this country were misled in terms of the rationale of this war,” said Couric, adding that it is “pretty much accepted” that the war in Iraq was a mistake.
“I’ve never understood why [invading Iraq] was so high on the administration’s agenda when terrorism was going on in Afghanistan and Pakistan and that [Iraq] had no true connection with al Qaeda.”
Its only "accepted" by her cohorts in the liberal left. Iraqi’s don’t think it was a mistake, I can assure you. Neither do those fighting the war. Some leftists in our nations newspapers believe it was a mistake and now it’s "pretty much accepted." Puhlease.
Oh, maybe we should send her this link (and this one) on the connections between Iraq and AQ which I can assure her ARE real. Of course she will ignore it, as her compadres do, seeing as how it doesn’t fit her world view.

If a lie is commonly accepted, then the propagandists have done their job well, and she’s doing nothing more than patting herself on the back for being a great propagandist. It’s ironic that she criticizes the msm for not investigating pre-war and then she turns right around and does the same. She just accepts what’s “commonly accepted” rather than looking into it.
Irony?
Hypocrisy?
“PROFESSIONAL JOURNALISM”
I don’t think Iraq was a mistake. America is the shining light on the hill of liberty, Couric’s just a dim bulb enlightening a room full of dummies.
Liberals are Traitors.
