Beauchamp Story Coming To A Close

Bob Owens has received confirmation that the investigation of Beauchamp’s stories is complete and they were all found to be bogus:

Col. Steven Boylan, Public Affairs Officer for U.S. Army Commanding General in Iraq David Petraeus, just emailed me the following in response to my request to confirm an earlier report that the U.S. Army’s investigation into the claims made by PV-2 Scott Thomas Beauchamp made in The New Republic had been completed.

He states:

To your question: Were there any truth to what was being said by Thomas?

Answer: An investigation of the allegations were conducted by the command and found to be false. In fact, members of Thomas’ platoon and company were all interviewed and no one could substantiate his claims.

As to what will happen to him?

Answer: As there is no evidence of criminal conduct, he is subject to Administrative punishment as determined by his chain of command. Under the various rules and regulations, administrative actions are not releasable to the public by the military on what does or does not happen.

As Bob points out, let that second sentence sink in.  "No one could substantiate his claims."  A bit different from what TNR reported in which they received corroboration from his fellow soldiers but just had to keep them anonymous.  Mighty convenient.

Anyways, it looks like this story is coming to a close.  An unhappy end for the lefties who so wanted to believe that our troops are mindless bloodthirsty robots for sure but I’m sure they will now claim the military is covering everything up and its all one big conspiracy.

I smell an Article 15 in the works, for those of you that don’t know: In the Sea Service, it’s called Captain’s Mast. If I were this scumbag’s CO, tomorrow would be good.

Most likely a Field Grade Art-15. I am sure the BN CDR and Co CDR really want this guy gone and will not pull any punches. He is a detriment to his unit and has brought shame upon them and the US Army. He also violated OPSEC on his blog with detailed deployment information. In addition, he has given aid to the enemy in a propaganda war.

A Bad Conduct Discharge is the least they can do to this piece of filth.
