Chrissy Matthews has outdone himself once again with another night of crappy political opinions. First, one of his cohorts, David Schuster, runs a piece alleging that because Republican Bob Corker had drums behind his radio ad, then this must mean that the ad was racist since his opponent, Harold Ford, is black. Get that? Drums = Racism.
Only in the world of leftist could we get this kind of retarded analysis. Listen to the ad here and tell me if it sounds racist.
Steven Spruiell writes that the allegations came first from a blogger:
Shuster attributed the theory to “liberal bloggers,” but he should have just given credit where it’s due: TPM’s Greg Sargent.
Sargent’s “jungle drums” scoop hit a snag when the Corker campaign pointed out that the drums in the radio ad are the same ones Corker is using in a TV ad that doesn’t even mention Ford. But the intrepid Sargent clung to his stupid theory, claiming that:
While it’s true that the same music is playing in the ad, and it’s true that there is some sort of drumming audible, it’s still dramatically different from the radio ad, which pumps up the very loud rumble of drums every single time Ford’s name is mentioned. They’re just not comparable.
Seriously. What kind of moron hears drums in an political ad and immediately thinks: Those must be jungle drums! Why that’s… that’s racist! Yet this idiotic charge is now being repeated on national television, courtesy of liberal-blogosphere hero David Shuster.
And then Matthews tells his invited guest, political analyst Charlie Cook, to give him his view of an ad that compared Democratic Sen. Robert Menendez with the mob. When Cook told Matthews that the Menendez campaign has been beset by corruption charges from day one, and THIS is the reason for the ad, Matthews will none of it:
MATTHEWS: Well maybe because I’ve spent so much of my life in New Jersey… but you know, I have to tell you Charlie, it’s an ethnic ad. Whatever else it is, it’s an ethnic ad. It’s about Italians in New Jersey, it’s about the mob. Tying Menendez into Torricelli. They’re closing the loop, they’re making their point, and that has been politics in that state for years, between the WASPy people like Christie Todd Whitman and the Keans, father and son, running against the ethnic people, they tied it all together: If you’re ethnic, you’re a crook, right?
Yes Chrissy, it’s not because of all the corruption allegations against Menendez, it’s because the Republicans are racists…..
Sigh.
To top it all off Chrissy has the gall to say that Steele’s ads are “non-threatening” because in this day and age a black candidate can ONLY air unthreatening ads…..I guess it may just scare people if he is too aggressive.
This guy really has gone over the deepend.
If your willing to sit through 3 minutes of this retard go ahead and view the whole trainwreck yourself:

In the bizarro world of people like Chrissy, Southerners are still knee-jerk racists, Iraq is Vietnam is a quagmire, and social conservatives can still be horrified to discover there are gays holding political office and staff positions in their party.
He reminds me of John “When I was in Vietnam” Kerry, and Islamic “Wish they all could be Caliphate girls” fundamentalists. All of them, stuck somewhere in their more glorious past.
