Having served as a police officer in Northern Ireland for over 15yrs I was really moved by the tragic story off officer Birco.
It was very easy for me to identify with the comments made by Gary Delagnes as a similar attitude to crime and punishment exists over here,if anything its actually alot worse.
During 30yrs off troubles in Northern Ireland over 300 of my fellow officers were murdered and several thousand more were badly injured or maimed.During that time we would look at the at the comparisions between or justice system and that off America and wish that ours was as severe as yours.
To hear that the media in San Francisco were blaming Officer Birco for his own death simply beggars belief,and shows that the liberal attitudeds that have been around for years over here have finally reached the shores off the USA.
Judges over here are regulary giving criminals conditional discharges regardless of their previous,and we are talking in some cases 15 to 20 previous convictions.
In my whole service as a police officer I have never heard anyone lay it on the line or sum it up as clearly and simply as Gary Delagnes.He said what we all know to be true in relation to judges,what planet are these people on,and how dare the media print such insulting shit with no regard to the officer,his family and collegues.

Why can’t “activist” judges be arrested for derilection of duty. Ohh that’s right, they enjoy immunity I believe. Does anyone think the ACLU would object to law enforcement using helicopter gunships to stop pursuits? Given the technology out there I’m sure the use could be safed, at least more so that the inherent danger of using motor vehicles.
