The liberals have already started on their “Murtha is great” campaign by proclaiming that since the news is reporting the Marines may be in trouble regarding the Haditha incident, those who belittled Murtha should apologize.

The Carpetbagger states:

At this point, there’s a very real possibility that the Haditha story is going to blow up in a dangerous way.

“When these investigations come out, there’s going to be a firestorm,” said retired Brig. Gen. David M. Brahms, formerly a top lawyer for the Marine Corps. “It will be worse than Abu Ghraib — nobody was killed at Abu Ghraib.”

As for all the conservatives who bashed Murtha viciously and relentlessly for having the audacity to tell the truth, I’m sure the apologies will be forthcoming. Any minute now.

Quite funny but not surprising when the left spins “the truth”. Myself and those who belittled Murtha didn’t go off on him for “telling the truth” but rather for telling the world the Marines are guilty prior to the completion of an investigation and a trial.

I said then:

Murtha has no honor left, no dignity, and will never be considered as a Marine except by his liberal buddies who would hate him for wearing that uniform in the first place. While an investigation is ongoing he comes out and proclaims the Marines guilty.

[...]Now if these Marines did in fact murder these innocent people then they should all be hung and quartered. They have dishonored my Marine Corps and there should be no greater punishment. BUT…..I will not proclaim them guilty before proven innocent. For Murtha, a man who has been out of the spotlight for sometime to come out of the shadows and villify my Marines is unconscionable.

No where did I say he dishonored himself by telling the truth. No, he dishonored himself for selfish reason. He sold out his Marines for selfish political reasons and for that he will never get an apology from me. He used this incident to get on TV. He wanted the publicity so he hung these Marines out to dry, before a trial…before a completed investigation, so he could tell the world that war is bad….mmmmkay.

For his cowardly calls to cut and run, for his proclamation before the world that the Marines are guilty before a trial, this statement still stands:
