Sorry to tell you that EVERY country in the ME are not that friendly with Israel. Does that mean we should not do business with them? Not become ally’s? If so then YOU might as well concede failure in this WoT. We need allies in that region, not too hard to comprehend is it? We allied ourselves with some pretty nasty people over our history to fight an even nastier evil, this time is no different.

As I’ve stated over and over in my posts this deal is no different then allowing China to manage our ports. The same Americans are working there and providing security. You don’t trust your own Americans to provide security then your a lost cause to even argue with.

The Coast Guard, the Border Patrol, ICE, and DHS will still be in charge of border enforcement?

Boy, I feel safer already.

Especially now that the UAE has recognized Israel’s right to exist and is no longer paying the families of suicide bombers. Oh wait! They don’t, and they still do (respectively).

Does the UK recognize Israel? Does the British government finance suicide bombers? Did the UK recognize the Taliban like the UAE did? How much of the sky will fall if the UAE withdraws the offer? Will UAE stop being our “friends” if Congress says no?

I voted twice for GWB. This is the first time I’ve been called kneejerk racist and a hysterical Islamophobe by other Republicans. You know what? I don’t give a flying-f#*k anymore! In fact, I think I’ll make up some bumper stickers. I can put it next to my “I’m a vigilante” bumpersticker that I got at the last Minuteman meeting.

As I posted over at Mike’s America, “I didn’t align myself with the left, vis-a-vis border enforcement, they aligned themselves with me.” I have no illusions. The Dems have just as much contempt for border enforcement and national sovereignty as this administration does.

The leftists are hypocrites and opportunists on these issues, but Bush handed them this dish of spoiled meat on a silver platter.

Besides, I do NOT think the Port’s deal is a mistake. And you may wish to re-read and reflect on Curt’s comprehensive posting on the subject.

There is no point in fueling an intraparty conflict over this ports deal… unless of course you are a Democrat with a completely political agenda.

And for the record, since you seem to be as sensitive as some cartoon offended Muslims, I am not assuming that you are a Democrat.

What bothers me about the ports deal is the way it was sprung with little notice on us. I am an old country boy, and when something smells like a skunk, well, it just might be a skunk. Wondering where the skunk is in this deal?
Maybe I’m just wondering who and what gets the money (the profit) from the deal. A good rule for econo-politics (if I can coin a term for the combination of economics and politics) is “Where is the money?” as has been said many times by Washington watchers. Well, where is the money going?
Just call me “screwed too often”.
