As for WWII, we were attacked by Germany's ally and Germany had attacked two of our allies. Or have you forgotten about the day that will live in infamy. While not violating US law, invading a sovereign nation isn't internationally acceptable. And I don't think the democrats are anyone's heroes. What does the war of Spanish Succession have to do with us? Maybe you look up to the French, but just because there was a preventive war in Europe 300 years ago doesn't mean that the US should have one now. We shouldn't have blockaded Cuba and also note that we didn't invade the country and overthrow its leader. We shouldn't have invaded Grenada. The Dominican Republic wasn't sovereign, but we shouldn't have gone to set up a puppet government. Clinton seriously considered but didn't do it. Clinton shouldn't have attacked the plant in Sudan, but at least when he reacted to a terrorist attack, he attacked the terrorists. Also preventing war is different than conquering a sovereign country, but the US overstepped our authority in some of our actions in the Balkans.
